Walking Boots?

Trip - TES - WALKING IN SARDINIA, Departure Date - Saturday 17th September 2011

I will be walking in sardinia and not sure which walking boots to take - I have a pair Salomon gore tex ones that I use for the lake district etc but think they may be overkill. Can I get away with my trail/ off road running shoes which have great grip but no ankle support - any advice much appreciated

Yes the boots will be far too hot for that climate. You want non-waterproof trail shoes, nobody seems to make non-waterproof boots these days. You can take hiking poles for extra stability.
