Chile's best: the Atacama Desert, Lake District and Patagonia

Osorno Volcano at dusk across Lago Llanquihue

Chile's narrow coastal strip stretches for 4300km and is dominated by the towering peaks of the Andes. Covering over half the length of South America, Chile has an unparalleled range of environments; from the world's driest desert, the hostile Atacama, with its geysers and salt flats, to the fertile valleys and vineyards of central Chile.

To the south lies the Lake District with dramatic, snow-capped volcanoes, deep blue lakes and gushing waterfalls. Further still, in the extreme south we reach Patagonia, a land of ice fields, mountains, glaciers and immense solitude; the 'uttermost part of the earth'.

What makes this trip responsible?

We use several family small owned hotels and hosterias during this trip which helps to keep money in the local community. At these properties locally sourced food is served wherever possible. Our guides enforce a strict 'Leave no Trace' policy in National Parks and the entrance fees are included for Valle de la Luna and Torres del Paine. At Valle de la Luna, this goes towards supporting the indigenous community and at Torres del Paine National Park this helps to support conservation efforts in the area.
