Samba, street parades and amazing atmosphere at the world's greatest party

Watching the main parade at the Sambadrome from our grandstand seats is undoubtedly the highlight of this trip - the atmosphere is completely unique and the pulsating samba rhythms are infectious.
The sight of thousands of dancers and drummers atop huge colourful floats is one not to be missed. Carnival is far from all that Rio has to offer though - on our city tour we visit the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue, take the cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf, and explore the historic downtown area.
There is plenty of free time to discover the city's famous beaches, shop at the handicraft markets, take in a football game at the Maracana stadium or relax by the hotel pool after a night at one of the many carnival balls and street parties.
