What an amazing experience.  A definite must do for party goers and those who like the biggest Carnival ever!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The Sambadrome was truly gobsmackingly amazing with excellent seats.  The atmosphere was electric throughout the week.  WOW!  I like parties but the atmosphere in Rio just cannot be described.  The Brazilians are such kind, warm, fun loving and generous people.  Everywhere we went they were helpful, - directions, advice, friendliness.  They were as determined to communicate as I was, despite language barriers.  The beaches, the processions and street parties, the Red and Black Ball and the Gay Ball are such fun.  Watching others at the Balls was fantastic and the most fun photos I have ever taken.  Our group really entered into it all. I, with others, despite myself, stayed out all night for 3 nights, catching up in the morning on sleep and then onto the streets to experience more of the atmosphere, enjoy the pick-me up juices readily available and to die for, and get ready for the next experience. Hang-gliding - definitely go for it and land on the South beach.  So much to do and a week seemed a short time to enjoy it all.
What did you think of your group leader?
The group leader was fun, thoughtful and sorted anything however small.  Ali was readily available for advice, suggestions of things to do.  He was truly committed to ensuring everyone had a good time doing the things they enjoy, whatever they may be.  The most professional guide I have had so far... did I really say that.... Exodus guides are so good anyway...
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Safety in Rio I found was a matter of common sense.  We used the underground system very safely accepting advice from the Brazilians re directions, trains, etc.  Taxis are reasonable particularly if you share.  I left a Brazilian club at 5.00 in the morning and never found the Brazilians had too much to drink.  Taxis were always readily available at any time to take you to/from the hotel day or night.  The area around the hotel was reasonably priced to eat and shop and far less expensive than London.

To see and enjoy Rio to the max, fully expect to be busy.  It is hot so dress lightly.  You can buy any clothes etc for the Balls very cheaply there.  Take some extra money for juices and snacks which are great.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I did the Brazil tour prior to Rio which was a great way to do Brazil.  If you are flexible, up for it attitude, then go for it.  Lastly - fantastic - I would definitely do it again.
