Brazil's size means it encompasses an extraordinary variety of natural habitats and scenery, ranging from the thundering Iguassu Falls to the tranquil sun-soaked beaches of the tropical northeast coast. We spend a few days taking in the sights in lively Rio de Janeiro before setting off on a trip which takes in some of the country's natural highlights, with activities including rainforest walks and boat rides at Iguassu, fantastic bird watching and canoeing in the Pantanal, and the opportunity to see turtles nesting in Praia do Forte.

Day 1	Depart London.
Day 2	Arrive Rio; rest of day at leisure.
Day 3	Full day city tour, visiting Sugar Loaf Mountain and famous statue of Christ on Corcovado.
Day 4	Day at leisure or optional excursions.
Day 5	Fly to Foz do Iguacu.
Day 6	Full day guided exploration of the Brazilian and Argentinean sides of the falls, including the roaring Devil's Throat.
Day 7	Fly to Cuiaba; long transfer to Pantanal lodge.
Day 8 - 9	Pantanal exploration, including birdwatching, motor boat trips, night-time safaris, horseback riding, canoeing.
Day 10	Fly to Salvador; drive to sleepy fishing village of Praia do Forte.
Day 11 - 12	Free days for relaxation on the beautiful beaches or optional excursions including turtle watching (in season), colonial town visits, waterfall walks.
Day 13	Depart Salvador.
Day 14	Arrive London.
