Europe's Last Great Wilderness

Basecamp Oulanka - This is a superb base in a wilderness location, with excellent facilities; this self-sustaining wooded complex takes immediate inspiration from the surrounding wilderness. Twin rooms with en suite bathrooms are in two separate buildings. The third building is a cosy restaurant and bar, with a log fire, sauna and outdoor hot tub.
Bear hide - One of the nights is spent in our bear hide located near the Russian/ Finnish border. This specialized hide is equipped with comfortable viewing chairs, sleeping areas (with sleeping bags provided by
Basecamp) and dry toilets.
Campsite - In Russia we spend our nights in tents. You are provided with a roll mat and sleeping bag from Basecamp Oulanka. As this is totally in the wilderness there are no facilities at the campsite.

Russia - all nationalities require a visa for Russia. The Russian visa is organised for you by Exodus and will be provided to you by our representative in Finland in the form of a group visa. We will require the following information when you book: a clear colour copy of your passport details page and confirmation of your occupation.

Finland - no visa required for UK passport holders visiting Finland.

Visa regulations can and do change without notice and if you are not a British passport holder please check the current regulations in good time to obtain a visa if one is required.

Mammals: Brown bear, wolverine, wolf, Red fox, hare, elk, reindeer.

Birds: Golden eagle, White-tailed eagle, Osprey, Buzzard, Falcon, Eurasian eagle owl. Goosander, Sandpiper, Golden eye, White throated dipper, Mallard, great crested grebe, sand martin, Cuckoo, Grey wagtail, Yellow wagtail, capercaillie, Black grouse, Willow Ptarmigan, Hazel grouse.
