Frequently Asked Questions
About Your Trip
Do I need a visa for Mongolia?
Almost all nationalities, including British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand, require a single entry visa for Mongolia. If you think you may be exempt you must check requirements with your local authorities or your agent. The current cost of a visa for British Citizens is £40 and further information can be found at http://www.embassyofmongolia.co.uk/.
American passport holders are offered 30-days visa-free entry to Mongolia on presentation of a valid passport at the time of entry.

What is the weather like in Mongolia?
July and August are summer months, and daytime temperatures should be a pleasant 20C in Ulaan Baatar and central regions. Temperatures can reach up to 40C in the Gobi desert in July and although the average is lower, clients should expect some very warm weather in certain parts. Evening temperatures are quite pleasant and humidity is very low. These months are also the wet season and over a trip of this duration you should expect some rain but showers are not normally long lasting and the total
rainfall during this period is very low.

What level of comfort should I expect?
You should be aware that Mongolia is still a relatively new country to tourism and standards may not be as high as you will find elsewhere. While Exodus work hard to ensure the accommodation is as comfortable as possible, certain aspects such as the roads need to be allowed for! Roads outside the major cities can be pretty bad, making any driving days uncomfortable at times, but we try and keep this to a minimum. While the infrastructure may be underdeveloped in places, the Mongolian sense of humour should get you though most things!

These are professionally managed tour camps where the accommodation is traditional Mongolians ger tents. Gers accommodate 2-4 persons, usually on a same sex or twin share basis. Bedding is provided.
There is a separate dining tent and male/ female toilet and shower facilities. Many camps have hot and cold water facilities (however due to the remoteness of these camps hot water can be a little erratic!).
