The trip notes are not particularly usfull in several areas and it would be useful if these could be amended.
It is only necessary for women to cover themselves fully in the Al Azhar mosque on day 2 (or any other mosque or church visited). At all of the tourist sites light summer clothing is acceptable, so don't bring more than one cover-all set of clothing. Skirts/dresses are acceptable everywhere, including the mosques.
The dinners provided on the overnight trains are of the aeroplane tray (economy class) type eaten in the cabin - no dinning or buffet car avialable. Adequate but no frills (all other included meals are buffet style, good quality and variety)
The hotels accept credit card payment, the cruise ship does not and paying for the excursions by credit card rather than cash was very complex and time consuming. Therefore the trip notes would be more useful if they recommended that tips, excursions and cruise ship bills should be paid for in cash, (international or egyptian currency). Forget travellers cheques entirely.
This is not the first time I have found neither the trip notes nor the explanation given when I phone for clarificationto be entirely accurate. This is the main reason wny I have rated the trip as 4 *rather than 5*
