What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
So many, it was a great holiday!
Mono Lake - beautiful, high, with amazing tufa towers...
Bryce Canyon in the snow - superb rock formations and colours...
Antelope Canyon - a photographers dream...
Monument Valley jeep - a magical sunset with the Navajo
Brilliant! Really helpful, thoughtful and extremely well organised.
There was a morning brief for whole day, other info as necessary, so we always knew what the arrangements were and where to meet/transport options/treks/maps distributed etc
He booked ahead for requested extras (such as group limo for evening in Vegas/show tickets/helicopter tours/specific restaurants, etc). Always gave us alternatives and suggestions for treks and activities. Remembered peoples likes/dislikes/special interests and included them in itinerary as far as possible.
Best leader I have had on any tour.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
A great holiday for contrasts - iconic scenery, good walking, and the bonus of staying in two fun cities. Try to get a couple of extra days holiday at each end of the trip.
In October it was quieter (so some shops/restaurants were limited) which was a good choice for me. It was also cooler, so layer clothes to accommodate the temperature changes - snow at Bryce, hot in the desert/Grand Canyon.
Take advantage of the longer treks in the Parks to really get away from the crowds. Research trails on the web before you go so you know what your options are.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Holiday was excellently organised and scheduled, with a great group leader.
Accomodation exceeded expectations (and did include Best Westerns/Holiday Inns) which were reliable and very comfortable with many/nearby facilities, but hardly 'local'.
A great choice for spectacular scenery, which sometimes required a head for heights. A good selection of wildlife. Every day and each destination was different, though by the time we arrived at Grand Canyon we were rather 'canyoned out'!
Our group had a good mixture of ages and interests, we all got on really well.
