Canadian Rockies & Vancouver Island

Tripcode: AFV

Countries visited: Canada

Adult Group Holidays Leisurely / Moderate Walking & Trekking Mixed Activity Wildlife Wilderness

Active exploration of the Canadian Rockies, Inside Passage and Vancouver Island

Moose munching leaves and flowers, Alaska

'Beautiful British Columbia' the number plates say, and not without good reason. The Rockies are stunning: rugged peaks, fir forests and sparkling glaciers interspersed with valleys rich with wildlife - Black and Grizzly bear, deer, moose and coyote.

This trip takes in the celebrated attractions and also ventures off the beaten track to get closer to the wonderful nature for which this region is deservedly famous.

Seldom visited Tweedsmuir and Bella Coola are particular highlights, along with the boat trip through the wilderness of the Inside Passage where one of the richest marine habitats of the world is revealed - Grey, Orca and occasionally Humpback whales frequent these waters.

There are great opportunities for hikes throughout the trip, often the best way to explore the mountains and lakes of the region.

What makes this trip responsible?

When visiting National Parks we stick to marked trails to reduce our impact on the local environment and we pay entrance fees which go towards supporting conservation efforts in the area. Throughout the trip we employ a ‘leave no trace’ policy in regard to litter - everything taken into the park is taken out to preserve the local environment. We recycle wherever possible and all leaders are trained in responsible tourism to enable them to follow best practice.
