  I chose this holiday as a special treat for myself and my son aged 16 years. We have always wanted to see Canada but needed to find a trip which included something for both of us. Adventure with a bit of spectacular walking too. It came up trumps and provided a perfect balance.

  What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

  The walking in the Rockies was awesome, as was our stay and trip through Tweedsmuir National Park. The Eagle's Nest resort on Anahim Lake was idylic. Mountains as far as the eye could see and no crowds.

  Arriving in Bella Coola was like stepping back in time. The ferry journey out down the inland passage was fantastic and provided a beautiful day of relaxation in a very hectic schedule.

  Whale watching and bathing in the hot springs off Vancouver Island was one of life's must do experiences.

  What did you think of your group leader?

  Our group leader Eric was outstanding. He provided far more than anyone could expect. His knowledge of the outdoors and survival was immense. Each day he prepared the most scrumptious packed lunches for us and went out of his way to organise and transport us to a fabulous selection of restaurants throughout the trip. When I had cause to require first aid his calm and effective treatment was first class and undoubtedly avoided my having to make a trip to a  medical facility for treatment. I only wish I had his stamina! I cannot praise him highly enough.

  Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

  If travelling with someone under the age of 19 years be aware that Canadian licensing laws strictly forbid them in bars even to eat when food is served. In Williams Lake our only option was a burger bar.

  Take plenty of Canadian Dollars. In remote areas there is a shortage of ATMs or, as in Bella Coolla, there is no cash in them!

  Is there anything else you would like to add?

  This holiday provides a fabulous introduction to what Canda has to offer. The only down side is it leaves you wanting more! I most certainly was not ready to come home after the 14 days. Be prepared for a let down when arriving in Vancouver. After the unspoilt, uncrowded tranquility of The Rockies and British Columbia. We found it dirty and dissapointing!
