Follow India's holiest river from foothills to delta

This itinerary experiences India from a very different and exciting angle, from the Himalayan foothills to the steaming banks of the Ganges and the largest delta system on the planet.
We travel on the biggest railway network in the world, drive on hectic city streets and meander slowly down the river itself passing villages and temples en route.
All tastes are catered for when experiencing the Ganges, from rafting or walking in the foothills of Rishikesh, witnessing Vishnu's stone footprint at Haridwar, searching for the wildlife of Sundarbans Tiger Reserve or people-watching in Varanasi.
The vitality and complexity of this wonderful country is awe-inspiring.
The Kumbh Mela
PLEASE NOTE: If you book on the tour leaving London on 2nd February 2013 you will be in Allahabad during The Kumbh Mela, a mass Hindu pilgrimage which only happens every 12 years!
