Rajasthan's palaces and monuments, plus holy Varanasi and the enchanting Taj Mahal

India almost overwhelms the senses with its startling contrasts, vibrant colours and the smells and sounds of a different world.
Nowhere more so than in Rajasthan, with its awe-inspiring monuments, testament to a rich and turbulent past. From the superb 'pink city' of Jaipur, home to huge palaces and forts, to the lakeside palace of Udaipur, each place has its own story to tell. We also see the intricate erotic carvings at Khajuraho, an astounding artistic accomplishment.
For many however Varanasi is the highlight. Located on the River Ganges it is one of the most sacred cities in India. Throngs of pilgrims gather around the countless temples and at the ghats, an unforgettable sight. However no trip to India would be complete without seeing the breathtaking Taj Mahal, arguably the most romantic building in the world.
Please note: This trip has had a name change for 2013 season, the trip was formerly called: Delhi to Mumbai
