This was a wonderful trip, full of new wonders each day.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Taj Mahal at sunrise and also Varanassi and the river Ganges with the life besides the river.
What did you think of your group leader?
Balvinder Singh was excellent = the best tour leader in all my 3 Exodus tours.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
January is not the best month to go as there is a lot of fog and mist and very cold at times. Unfortunately I couldn't get my Everest flight and our flight home had to be via Bangkok as we couldn't make our connection flight back to London in Dehli.

Overall the trip was excellent. We saw and did far more than we could ever have done as independent travellers. The pace was varied and the longer bus rides made more tolerable by frequent stops.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The Taj Mahal was, of course, spectacular. It had to be the highlight amongst many memorable experiences - including the excellent food.

Meeting local people in rural areas on an unscheduled stop will also stay with me.

What did you think of your group leader?
Bali (Balvinder) was the best. He was attentive, enthusiastic and a great ambassador for India. With his tales of life in India, we gained an insight as well as making the long bus trips pass more quickly. He has a good sense of humour with a great sense of professionalism. He was a great fixer and quickly dealt with any problems as they arose. Getting us on and off the train safely must have been the most stressful thing he did but it was accomplished efficiently. The extras of the trip to the cinema and to a Sikh temple were well thought through. As first time Exodus travellers we felt we started at the top with Bali.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
When, in the trip notes, it says it could get cold at this time of year take note. We ( and several fellow travellers ) were caught out in a few places and had to resort to wearing many layers. The situation was particularly bad in Chitwan where the unheated rooms meant we wore fleeces to bed and could see our own breath in the morning. Some hotels provided fan heaters on request but not all. Gloves, hats and scarves are good to take at this time of year.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

This whole trip was great. (The cold was the only downside) We have always travelled independently before this trip and found the whole experience great fun - enjoying the company of our group, our fantastic guide and very well organised itinery.

We were wondering whether more time could be spent in Delhi as we came away with not having 'a feel' for the city. We weren't able to walk anywhere and would have like to have seen the Gandhi memorial. On the other hand it gives us reasons to return to India!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
    Taj Mahal & Varanasi
What did you think of your group leader?
Avtar was very good until we were in Chitwan NP where he left the group twice & we lost walking time while he was tracked down. On our final night in Kathmandu Avtar informed us that we all needed to put more money into the tips kitty; most of us had to change more money to do this. He should have told us earlier.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be prepared for extremely long bus journeys & some early morning starts
Is there anything else you would like to add?
    Overall a well planned itininery

What an amazing trip!  We saw so much in India that our feet never touched the ground.  Quite tiring but worth the early mornings.  Our tour leader, Avtar, was just the best.  He took us to so many places that were not on the itinerary and found an amazing restaurant for us each evening, often ordering for us – I am spoilt forever now for Indian restaurants in the UK!  After a manic week in India, it was lovely to relax in Pokhara and soak up the atmosphere of this tourist town.   This was our second Exodus trip and will definitely not be our last.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

We visited 2 schools in India and a village in Nepal.  Their desire for education puts us to shame.  Children as young as 5 were learning English and able to hold a conversation with us.  Even though the conditions they lived in were, to our minds, dirty and basic, the children were all turned out immaculately in their school uniforms.  At one of the villages, our whole group was offered hospitality even though, I'm sure, they had little to spare.

What did you think of your group leader?

Avtar Singh was our Group Leader and was brilliant.  He took us to so many places that were not on the itinerary as he wanted us to see the "real India".  He found excellent local restaurants and provided picnic breakfasts and lunches so that we could spend more time travelling.  His devotion to duty was such that, on the overnight train to Varanasi, he didn't sleep, even though he had an awful cold, so that he could make sure we were all secure and comfortable.  He also plied us with "behind the curtain" rum and coke. This man deserves all the praise bestowed on him!

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Be prepared for early mornings but never say no to any off-itinerary suggestions your guide might suggest.  Don't be afraid to eat local food and just enjoy every minute.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
If you have the chance to go on this trip, go for it - you won't regret it!  You won't have a relaxing, restful holiday but you will see so much more than is listed on the itinerary.  Very good value!

This was my first trip with Exodus and it will not be the last. I knew it will be an amazing trip when I made my decision to book this holiday but it has definitely exceeded my expectations! This itinerary gives so much verity of experiences: stunning historic monuments and palaces, local culture and customs, wildlife and finally Himalayas! What more can one ask for from a 15 day trip?!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
I cannot possibly list just one! I loved the visits to the local villages and schools organised by our clever guide Avtar. However, I have never saw so many stunning sunrises! We had a chance to observe the very first glimpses of local spiritual life at Varanasi where the pilgrims come to wash their sins in the early morning sun and float the flowers and candles as offerings to goddess Ganga. We saw the early mists in the Chitwan jungle in Nepal during the elephant safari and eventually the most amazing spectacle of light during the sunrise in Pokhara over the Annapurna range.
What did you think of your group leader?
Our leader, Avtar Singh is absolutely exceptional. His passion and pride for his beloved country was truly inspiring! He has never run out of energy to provide us with the most amazing experiences of the local culture. He started from the visit to the serene Sikh temple in Delhi, continue with taking us to number of tiny local villages, encouraged us to dance at the Indian weddings, provided with most amazing culinary experiences at the local vegetarian restaurants! Everywhere we went he had a great story for us, his knowledge of the native mythology was overwhelming. Most of all, he always made sure we are safe and healthy at all times.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
It's an amazing holiday for someone who is fairly active and doesn't mind the early starts of the day (which are so worth giving up an extra hour or two in bed)! It's for someone who value the variety of experiences over the leisurely wonders around one particular destination. Saying that I have never felt deprived of not having enough time to explore the places we have visited. But most importantly, be open minded and flexible. It's all perfectly planned, all you need to do is enjoy the ride!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Like I said this was my first trip with Exodus and also my first visit to India, but I am now completely hooked and I plan many more trips to India, next one probably somewhere in the south of this wonderful subcontinent!

A good combination of culture, sceneries and relaxing moments.I can only recommend to go on this tour! Beautiful India and Nepal.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Every single day was different and memorable!

Of course the Taj Mahal (you are not the same person once you've seen it) but also Delhi (the Red Fort, the Great Mosq), Jaipur (Amber Palast, Wind Palast), the unforgetable Varanasi (the prayers and baths on the Holy Ganges). Also Nepal (Paraglinding - optional - in Pokhra, Buddhist Temple in Kathmandou).

What did you think of your group leader?

Always available and joyful, Sanjay paid attention to each one of us (we never felt unsafe) and gave us a lot of information about the places we visited, the history and culture of India.

    Thank you Sanjay!

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Travel light and bring a huge memory card along.
