This was a great holiday, so much was packed into the two weeks.  We were tired out by the end and needed another holiday to recover.  It would be almost impossible to see this much on your own without guides.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The evening trip on the ganges in an open boat was superb and the motorised rick shaw ride was the best white knuckle ride I have ever been on!

What did you think of your group leader?
Balvinder , our local guide was great.  He went so far beyond the call of duty to make sure we had the greatest time and remained safe and secure throughout.  He also brought a personal dimension to the tour which would not have been there if we had a western guide.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
    Travel light.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Barter like mad.  Don't be afraid to offer 20-25% of the original asking price.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The Sunrise / visit to the Taj Mahal was and will remain very special to me and my Partner.

An additional Bonus Extra, was that we went to see a "Bollywood" Movie on Christmas Eve, thanks to our Tour Leader, Bali.

What did you think of your group leader?

Fantastic Guy, we have been on many Explore and Exodus Tours and have met lots of Tour Leaders.

Bali, our Tour guide was working 24/7 none stop and fitted lots of extra things in to the agenda which made it even more enjoyable.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

The trip notes stated that the Nepal Visa was $25 dollars and that we could obtain this on entry in to Nepal - TRUE, BUT you did not mention that ONLY DOLLARS were excepted. Most of the group only had Sterling, Euros' or travellers cheques, THIS NEEDS TO BE MADE CLEARER ON FUTURE TRIP NOTES .

We did not visit India without some expectations as to the hustle and bustle, colour, noise, mystery and extremes of grandeur and poverty but were still not really prepared for the superb week we were to have in this vibrant country. Nepal was always going to be a bit of a surprise and proved to be more of a contrast than expected and equal of a visit in every respect.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
In India visiting the Taj Mahal at dawn was a unique experience but the atmosphere at the evening ceremony on the ghats at Varanasi was unbeatable. The countryside of Nepal is a delight. The trip from Pohara to Kathmandu is long and arduous through breathtaking scenery and a fabulous day of travel highlights. The visit to Royal Chitwan N P was the absolute highlight. Our time was managed so well with a full programme including morning and evening safaris and excellent food. The elephants made it for us, they rose to the thrill of the hunt whilst searching out  the jungle wildlife and bathing with them in the river was a memorable experience.
What did you think of your group leader?
We were lucky being only a group of eleven with Krishna making up our twelfth. We quickly became a family. He obviously knows well and loves his mother country. Moving a smaller group around he was able to adapt travel plans and timetable to include additional options. It is a shame that due to his need to coordinate the arrival of another group he was unable to show us a similar knowledge of Kathmandu.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
See the trip in three individual parts. India and Nepal have many differences. The interlude at Royal Chitwan N P is very much a seperate jungle experience. Give some prior thought as to suitable clothing to ensure appropriate use for the rest of the holiday.

It was a real experience, much better than I imagined. I was very lucky as the people in the group were nice & thanks to them I had a great time. Without them I would have been possible.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

It was one of my dreams come true to see the Taj Mahal. I was almost speechless when I saw it, eventhough I´m a bubbly person. Same happened with the Ganges ceremonies at night, it was quite spiritual & a unique moment.

Bathing an elephant or better said, getting a bath from an elephant was a lot of fun. National Chitwan Park was a fun experience in general. I felt part of the National Geographic!.

Taking the flight to see the Everest was a great decission. Eventhough I was not very sure when I woke up at 06.00 AM to go to take the flight, once I saw Everest it made me feel that it was the right decission.

From India I would say that it was all: people, smells, colours, all those amazing ladies workers that wearing a colourful sary  & looked like princesses...

What did you think of your group leader?

Gopal was there for everything, i could not ask for more with a tour leader.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

If you are travelling on your own, don´t worry. there is enough people in the group to find those that you will get on well.

Jump into experinces, don´t be shy & in that way you will make the most of it. Don´t be afraid to try new things.

Don´t prejudge in advance as it is a very different culture.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

For me it was the first trip that I went on my own & I was a bit nervous before I went. On the plane I met people from the group as we were sitting down together, that was very good. After that I was relaxed & I enjoyed the rest of the trip.

Thanks for organizing this amazing trip!.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The entire trip was absolutely fantastic, even the long days driving were a pleasure as we were able to watch the hectic life go by.  The Taj Mahal was awesome, Varanasi moved me to tears, Chitwan was so peaceful and calm, Nepal was so beautiful. Whatever you do, book this trip for a full itinerary that shows you so much culture and sights you can never forget.

What did you think of your group leader?
Our tour leader, Shaillandra was absolutely excellent, he was truly passionate about his home country, and shared with us his vast knowledge of every aspect of the trip. He is a wonderful diplomat, and operated the tour with precision to ensure a smooth passage. We shared so much laughter, and embraced everything on the itinerary with open arms (even the early mornings!!).
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be guided by your tour leader, expect several early mornings, take warm clothing for the evenings and early mornings, take a large memory card for your camera!! You will find a small torch invaluable.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This trip has been the holiday of my lifetime. India and Nepal are 2 contrasting countries, both offering such diverse experiences. Beautiful landscapes, delicious food, smiling faces everywhere, all in all, amazing!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There were many highlights, India is such a country of diversity and contrast, I, loved it all. Seeing the Taj mahal at dawn with hardly anybody else there was awesome. The trip on the Ganges and the sight of the Ghats, I, will never forget. Then on to Nepal and the Hymalayas it was spectacular. everyone should do a trip like this at least once in their lifetime
What did you think of your group leader?
Shalindra, was first class. His passion for his country shone through and definately added a great deal to the experience. His knowledge was vast, and he never tired of the constant questions. He was the best guide I, have ever come across.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Travelling at this time of the year,I, could have done with a bit more warmer clothes as at times it was really cold. I, wished I, had taken a hot water bottle with me. Also a bottle of cough mixture would have gone down a treat as most people developed rasping coughs, brought on by dust in Dehli and smog on the Nepalese border. It was quite difficult to breathe at times. Toilet paper too was an essential bit of kit.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
For me this has been a trip of a lifetime. It really does expand your mind. India is a beautiful country, with lovely people. Its full of vibrancy, beautiful architecture and hospitable people. I, also have to add that the trip was excellent value for money
