A great, well informed guide, a little fleet of foot, for some at sertain points, but generally kept the journey going with highly informative snippets of information about the cities being visited. A good, eclectic mix of people form all walks of life who got on very well throughout the holiday.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Visiting (all beit too shortly) Casablanca. I know Humphey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman never went there but it was magical. The mosque was simple stunning in every sense of the word, breathtaking! The little time we had was wonderful, the meal on the seafront, and the walk on the promenade.

Esaouira was also a wonderful little place after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. Watchibng the local fishermen deal with their catch of the day just superb. I would have quite easily gladly had another day here.

What did you think of your group leader?

A lovely gentleman. Very informed, although sometimes he set a pace in the 'heat' that challenged even the best of us to keep up, and sometimes I thought he didn't stop often enough (especially in the narrow souks) to check his group hadn't got lost...we did have one or two dawdlers that were busy taking intricate photos.

Overall though a caring man with good insight as to where to go and what to see, who to meet and what to do...isn't that what's needed of any guide?

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Keep your eyes and ears open and enjoy! Fast and furious pace but worth every minute. To be done in the heat of the summer only by those who really, really enjoy heat!
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. My husband was ill on the first day (not Moroccan related I add), and just couldn't cope with Fes, our guide sorted him out a taxi to take him to the hotel, and was most concerned that I phone him to make sure he was ok. Because of the nature of the expedidtion I was completely at ease continuing on with the tour and continued to enjoy myself in and around Fes. Our guide was an absolute support all the way through, so I thank him wholeheartedly.

The country of Morocco was wonderful, the people and the variety of life made us feel welcome and I would recommend this kind of trip to anyone of an adventurous disposition...definitely not for sunbathers and disco divas.

A very enjoyable holiday with interesting places to see and visit, good weather and a great crowd of people if rather a busy itinerary!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Seeing Marrakech (the main square and all the endless souks) and arriving in Essaouira as it was so lovely - could have spent longer there!
What did you think of your group leader?
Mohammed was very knowledgeable, informative and helpful.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Be prepared that it is a busy tour (a lot to see in a short time).  Also, the fact that you cannot get currency before departure and also at the end of the tour, if you still have Moroccan currency (Dirhams) left, there are no exchange places in the airport (only outside) and the Duty-Free shop only takes Dirhams for Moroccan goods so it is advisable to have as little currency left as possible at the end of the holiday.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
This tour would be better over a longer time in order to be able to absorb more, for example, over more like 10, 11 or 12 days and possibly more time in Essaouira at the end of the holiday - a bit of relaxation and unwinding after a busy itinerary!

It said it was busy and it was.  An excellent trip with a great group of people who just clicked and added to our overall enjoyment.  Mohammed our guide really helped to make the trip happen.  Morocco is a great country.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The trip to Essaouria. It may have been a tourist bus from Marrakech, but thw whole experience of the travel, the fish market, the old city, the cafes and restaurants all made it an inspirational place to be.
What did you think of your group leader?
Mohammed was excellent, he was very patient, knowledgeable and proud of his country and its achievements.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Be prepared for the travel, its a bust trip, lots to see and do.  Be open minded and absorb the opportunity and take the opportunity to explore on your own as well as in the group.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
As ever a well organised holiday with Exodus.

An ideal way to discover Morrocco if you are thinking of returning for a more relaxed vacation at a later date. Once you have done this trip you will have a good basic idea of the Country and where best to spend your time

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The Souks at Fes and Marrakesh are something you just have to do. A great experience !      Essaouira is like the fishing village (small version equivilent) of Marrakech. Quite windy at times but well worth a visit and great if you want to sit on the huge beach or go for a swim
What did you think of your group leader?
Mohammed, the tour leader is a very relaxed and friendly tour leader. He seems to have a great deal of respect amongst the locals in the Cities we visited and i quickly became very confident walking through the streets with him. Good local knowledge, he's perfect for this trip
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Eating in restaurants, even hotel restaurants, is no guarantee that you will avoid the almost obligatory stomach upsets. Be prepared for this. Street food if chosen carefully is fine. I ate delicacies and fresh fruit from the souks with no ill effects, but others were not so lucky simply eating restaurant food. As said, be prepared..

This is a six day route march ! Your on the move a lot and all in very hot weather. forget the 'your need something warm for the evenings' advice in the trip notes. I took a fleece and it was simply wasted space in the case and earned me a wry smile from the guide!  DO take a small rucksack, you will need it. Good sunglasses and a wide brim hat are a must. Oh, and a book ( MP3 player might be better for those long coach rides )

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Apart from Marrakesh and Essaouira you are on quite a tight schedule. Annoyingly, you don't get time to stop and wander in the souks in Fes, Medina or Rabat apart from where the guide has scheduled a shopping 'event' at one of the pre arranged shops.

You have several long road trips, and a rail trip, and you may not want to listen to the guides 'talk' for all of the journey. If you haven't fallen asleep, the MP3 player or book will help drive/drown out any distractions

Volubilis is a ruin of a Roman ruin. It is by no means a Moroccan version of Pompei so don't get excited. Great views, but not much else and in a very sad and overgrown condition. You have to tip the local ruins guide even if you don't go round with him and i still know next to nothing as to what the Romans were doing there

Avoid Essaouira in late June if you don't want loud music into the early hours and crowds of noisy teenagers. Its their annual rock? music festival and the hotel we stayed in was about 500 metres from the stage. The music was great, but if thats not your scene, forget it !   Its a great fishing town but you won't see it at its best at that time of the year

For better or worse, Health and Safety isn't a big issue out there, so make sure you know your fire exits in all the hotels

When you get to a hotel get hold of one of their hotel 'cards' with their address and contact details on. Keep it with you and if you get lost, show it to the local taxi drivers and your get back ok

Finally, don't go near the snake charmers in Marrakesh, they are experts at getting you to have your picture taken with the snakes and NO is a word they don't understand right up to the time where they then try to charge you £30 for your pictures.   Watch them from a distance, the snakes are less slippery than the charmers !

Morocco is a great place to visit and this tour is a very good introduction.  True you get all the haggling in the shops but unlike places like Egypt, you don't get pestered by children or coppers and you can safely cross the road.  I will go back at some stage to find out more about most of the places we went to.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Wandering through the tiny streets of Fes was absolutely fascinating.
What did you think of your group leader?
he was generally fairly good although sometimes it was difficult to follow what he was saying.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Unless it's baking hot, don't find yourself spending more time than scheduled in Essaouira.  It's nice enough if you want a beach but you could miss out on extra time in Marrakech.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The huge Hassan II mosque in Casablanca is one of few that non-Muslims can get into but you have to be there at certain times.  If you want to get in, ask the guide to ditch the drive around the posh bits of town and get to the mosque.  We missed it.

Even though a small group of 4 of us, we all got on very well and had an enjoyable holiday - was like travelling with a small group of close friends with a guide who was very enthusiastic, and keen for us to experience the country.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Spending time in central Marrakesh - a fantastic town, with many different aspects and experiences - the central square is great to people (and snake and monkey!!) watch, and then in the evening it comes alive in a different guise as the food sellers take over - unending interest!!!
What did you think of your group leader?
The group leaer was very keen that we experienced the breadth of Morocco. Nothing was to omuch trouble. he helped us to do what was in the itinerary, as well as satisfying specific requests. He made it very easy for us.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Go with an open mind and be prepared to be flexible and go with ideas that may not be yours, or something you're not convinced about - these typs of holiday are about geting experiences - partucularly those you wouldn't plan for yourself!!!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
A great short vacation, covered a lot, yet still felt relaxed and 'long'
