This was a great trip and a really good introduction to Morocco.  We felt that the guides were knowledgable and they seemed to genuinely enjoy the company of the group members.  We felt we learned a lot about the culture and we certainly saw the sights!

Our trip to the High Atlas was wonderful.  It snowed when we were there and the scenery was stunning.  We loved the Kasbha.

Yayah was a really great group leader and we enjoyed his company and knowledge.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Pack winter woolies for the mountains.

We usually go for a full on walking holiday but this time decided to chill out, and it was well worth the decision. Walking was light for strong walkers. Marrakech very much an aquired taste but one we acquired quite quickly, the coast was beautiful and a time to relax and the mountains (as we knew from past) a great recupurative affect on the body and soul.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Mountains, the people and being lucky enough to time a holiday with a big 3 days festival where everyone returns home and for us that meant seeing real life and community in the mountains.....including the elusive goat man chasing after the village children.....yes there really was a man dress from head to toe in the skins of a goat - hot work, lucky we could watch and drink mint tea!

What did you think of your group leader?
Really great, we all felt that an extended time in the mountains before return journey to Marrakech would be best for our group and he made it happen for us, rearranging transportation and organising a further morning walk and (for me) the best lunch of the holiday - great support and really flexible even during a feast time and suffering with a cold he never once got irritated with any of us and our proposed changes to the day. He even fully understood when we asked not to be part of the guided tour as we wanted some time to ourselves and was happy to accomodate

I experienced politeness and a fun sense of humour from all Moroccans, Marrakech can be a big surprise to the senses so Id advise that you just need to keep your sense of adventure and humour. PS Dont feel disappointed if you are there at times of feasts, sometimes it really lets you see a side of a country and its culture that will reside far longer than the souk purchases

Allthough I had allready been to Marrakech and Essaouira, I greatly enjoyed rediscovering these two cities. The trip had just the right balance of time spent in the city and time spent in the countryside.A trip highlight was staying at the Kasbah Samra ran by Jacqueline. The douar is stunning and it was a very peaceful place to relax. Jacqueline makes you feel welcome straight away, and she is assisted by a great team, notably Rachida and Mohammed. The home-cooked food was amazing. My favorites were the morning pancake/bread and the the lamb meatballs.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
My favourite moment was breaking my fast in the evening as I was travelling during Ramadan. Our guide, who was also fasting, always made sure that I had a place to pray and some food and company with whom to break my fast. The two hours around sunset were usually designated as free/relaxing time, but for me this was the time when I really felt imerged in Morrocan culture.
What did you think of your group leader?
Our group leader was very efficient in both the city and the mountains. We always knew where we were going and what we were doing and he was able to accomodate the needs of the entire group. He was especially in his element when we reached the mountains and he was great as a hiking guide.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

I would advise potential travellers to think about the time of the year they are going at. I chose to go at the end of August-beginning of September, and the climate in Marrakech was suffocating. I would advise travellers to bring mostly relaxed and sport clothes, but also save a nice outfit for going out for a meal in the evening. It is preferrable to dress modeslty as this will reduce the amount of attention you will get as a tourist.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Even though I'd been to Marrakech, Essaouira and the Altas mountains before, revisiting them in the week made it seem like a much longer holiday because of how many places we saw. I enjoyed the historic tours of Marrakech and Essaouira and relaxing in the Kasbah/Douar Samra in Imlil.

The number of people on the trip was just right and I greatly enjoyed meeting and conversing with my co-travellers, with whom I shared some great moments.

My friend and I thought it one of the best holidays we'd had. We enjoyed the different aspects of the trip and were so well looked after. The people we met were welcoming and friendly.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Loved the two nights spent in the traditional Berber Lodge (wonderful food) and climbing in the Atlas Mountains. Great fun in the Souks. Getting hooked on mint tea.
What did you think of your group leader?
Mohamed our leader was very knowledgeable and was always willing to answer our questions. He was friendly and fun to be with and nothing was to much trouble. He was a tower of strength when we were unable to leave due to the Volcano and took great care of us all. We all thought he was a very special person.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
    Enjoy
Is there anything else you would like to add?
My first experience of Exodus and Morocco was better than I could have imagined.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Loved the mountains - not even Exodus could have organised the snowcapped mountains but bright, hot weather so well. The accomodation was superb as well.
What did you think of your group leader?
Great leader - organised, knowledgeable, friendly, very much one of the group but unassuming too.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Spend more time in the mountains.

Fantastic holiday.  Certainly made all the more enjoyable by the efforts of our Tour Leader, Mohamed Maachou.  Nothing was too much trouble for him.  He integrated with the group, but was still the leader.  The 'kitty' should be increased to perhaps £70.00, which would cover the whole trip.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Marrakesh - fantastic, but a 'busy city'.

Essouira - beautiful place, excellent Riad.

Atlas Mountains - what can I say?  I will CERTAINLY be returning here.  Perhaps an extra night at the gite, and one less night in Marrakesh at the end of the holiday.

What did you think of your group leader?
As I've said above, Mohamed Maachou was an excellent leader.  Nothing too much trouble.  He integrated with the group, without losing his Tour Leader status.  The time to 'fend for ourselves' was just right .  Even though , at heart, he is a 'Mountain Man', he still knew his stuff in the city and at the beach.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take a small torch for use in the gite.  Lots of wet wipes and antibacterial handwash, just to do as much as possible not to catch any 'traveller's tummy'.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Loved the holiday.  Didn't want it to end.  Can't wait to go back and explore the Atlas Mountains further.  A great trip for a 'Taste of Morocco'.
