MARRAKECH & THE SAHARA

A short journey to the Moroccan Sahara: Berber kasbahs, remote sand dunes and snow-capped mountains
Southern Morocco is a perfect destination: although hot in the high summer, it is pleasantly warm the rest of the year. From the desert town of Zagora we travel south by camel into the Sahara. Returning north, we visit the beautiful kasbah of Ait Benhaddou and pass by the crumbling remains of the great fortress-palace of Telouet. Nearby in a remote, picturesque valley is the village of Tijhza, from where we take a walk in the High Atlas Mountains. There is also time to explore the 'Pink City' of Marrakech and the beautiful coastal town of Essaouira with its excellent seafood.
