Our Highlights of Nepal trip was exactly that - it offered us such a variety of sights, smells, tastes, and feelings, with barely a rest between each new adventure. Our guide Prasant was knowledgable and good company, and in one case of injury gave us confidence and reassurance.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Our treks in the Annapurna foothills gave me the most pleasure. They were hard work, climbing stony paths up and down many thousands of feet, but passing through villages and past shrines, talking to local people and gazing at spectacular mountain vistas - it was everything I wanted from my first taste of the Himalayas.
Kathmandu was also a wonderful experience - I walked all day through the old city, on back roads past all sorts of hidden treasures; the musical instrument making area, the dental treatment zone (this was interesting!), the religious painting area, Durbar Square (of course), Thamel (of course) and finally ending the day with a cooling drink in the Garden of Dreams, a tranquil neo-classical historical garden which offers the tired walker a complete contrast to the chaos and colour of the city outside.
What did you think of your group leader?
Our group leader was excellent. Prasant was highly experienced, having guided in the area for (I think) more than 17 years. I never once doubted his abilities - even when one of our party was badly injured. He took admirable control of that situation and reassured the rest of us that everything would be done to assure the best possible outcome for our fellow traveller. He understood the mix of our group well, and never hurried the slower walkers, nor frustrated the faster ones. Our evening meals were always fun with him with us.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Make sure you have the right walking shoes/boots, with the right socks too!! And for the jungle part of this particular trip it is vital for your required long trousers and long sleeved top to be very light-weight. I only had my normal UK weight Spring clothes to wear on our jungle walk, and I thought I would completely melt in the heat!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
For someone who loves mountains - I have explored many of the major mountain ranges in the world - my visit to the Himalayas was the fulfillment of a life-long dream! This trip gave me everything I hoped for - uplifting moments, good company, new friends, everlasting memories, and a whole new folder of spectacular photographs! I want to go back next week ........

Looking for a taster to Nepal, with the right mixture of trekking, sights and culture, then I would highly recommend this trip. One thing to say the walking is not easy it's all up or down so get your boots out beforehand and practice.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There were so many inspirational parts to the trip the mountain views at sunrise and sunset, trudging through the jungle on the back of an elephant were the most inspiring. Having been back home for a few weeks you have to get the photos out to believe you were really there.
What did you think of your group leader?
Our leader really did add to the holiday, I went to places and saw things that you really wouldn't of seen if you'd booked a holiday in Nepal yourself. I do think the leaders helps make the holiday, you do have to remember he is part of a team the trek porters and guides and the jungle guides just add to the whole sense of adventure. the feeling when you get to the top of the final climb of the trek just sums the whole experience up.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Going to Nepal is an experience, you have to take life as they do laid back (in fact almost horizontal) just chill out and enjoy the whole thing. As for advice two things:-

Don't pack too much, travel light you can get your washing done. Just rember you are unpacking and re-packing virually every other day.
check the weather forecast for the time of year you are going, I really didn't need all the warm clothes I packed.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Whilst this isn't the toughest trek you'll ever do (or maybe it is) it is not easy, don't let the "leisurely/moderate" tag fool you it is 4 half days of walking up and down stone uneven steps. On the BIG PLUS side the sights, smells and fun you'll have more than compensates for the hard work. The rest of the holiday just adds to the whole experience.
If you want to lay back on the beach and relax Nepal is not for you (but then you're proabably not reading this). However if like a sense of adventure and the unexpected then this is just the taster for a wonderful country,.
I say go for it !!!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The fantastice mountain views and the friendliness of the Nepali people. Even in the hustle of Kathmandu you felt at ease.
What did you think of your group leader?
The trek leader and the assisstant were exceptional in there atitudes to the group.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Travel light you do not need a lot on the trek. Ensure that you do a lot of hill walks to get fit before you go so that you can enjoy the experience..

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
There were a lot of great things:
Watching the sun rise from the roof of the guest house in Bandipur.
Seeing the mountains emerge from the clouds surrounding them every afternoon and realising just how massive they are.
Enjoying a cold Gorkha beer at the teahouse after a day of trekking
Drifting lazily down the river in a dugout canoe and watching the kingfishers and crocodiles
Boudhanath stupa in Kathmandu is definitely worth visiting
Relaxing in the Garden of Dreams in Kathmandu before we flew back home
What did you think of your group leader?
Keshar was an excellent leader who looked after us really well. He made it a great and memorable holiday and we learned a lot about Nepal from him.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
We loved the trekking and it's worth doing a bit of preparation as there are a couple of days with steep climbs and you want to enjoy yourself. In October, pack for warm days but the temperature drops in the evening, even in Kathmandu.
We weren't sure what to expect from the teahouse accommodation as the trip notes say they are quite basic. However, all the places we stayed in had great character and were really well run which made up for the occasional shared bathroom.
There was no problem in finding electrical sockets, even on trek, and WiFi was available in unexpected places.
Among the places visited, you'll not find an ATM outside of Pokhara and Kathmandu, so make sure you have enough cash before the trek starts. Also, most places will not change Scottish notes, thankfully we were warned in advance.
I'd recommend the optional paragliding excursion in Pokhara for a unique view of the city.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
We had a great crowd of fellow travellers which made the trip even more enjoyable.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Arriving on the brow of a hilll after a long exhausting walk to be met with the view of Annapurna in all it's glory!

One of the most knowledgeable, patient and fun people you could meet. What a credit to Exodus!

Relax, and enjoy this part of Nepal. Wonderful people and a priviledge to be allowed to spend a short time in their fabulous country.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Seeing the sunrise on Annaperna South and white water rafting.
What did you think of your group leader?
Chandra was delightful and always chearfull. Only slight problem was he did not always check that all the group was together - walking out from Bandipur we left 2 people behind.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
As a senior citizen I found the start of the trek up the steps at Dhampus hard going, although I do a lot of walking on our coast and moors locally.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
1. Our walk into the Chitwan Forest on our first afternoon there was more of a route march led by the local guide. It would have been nice to learn about the flora and fauna and to look at a learn about the wildlife, especially, for me, the birds.
2. The Elephant ride into the Chitwan Forest was diappointing because there were too many together, and too much noise from some people. No hope of seeing wildlife!
3. The aborted flight to Everest was very badly organised. No fault of Exodus that we could not go, but we were dropped at the airport not knowing where to go and with nobody to meet us. This was sorted following a couple of phone calls, but it could have been a lot better organised.
However, these points did not detract from the excellent holiday.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Seeing the sunrise over Annapurna South on day 2 of the trek.
River rafting.
Paragliding in Pokhara was an amazing experience (arranged independently)
What did you think of your group leader?
Chandra was an excellent group leader - friendly, enthusiastic and knowlegable.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
The day walk in Bandipur was a lot tougher than I expected and was not a 4 hour round trip.
The 4 day trek was also tougher - there are thousands of steps up and down and walking poles are essential.
Both were very enjoyable as the views and scenery are wonderful, but the trek is definitely moderate and not leisurely.
Go river rafting - it was great fun.
Try paragliding in Pokhara for amazing views and a thrilling experience.
Barter for your shopping.
500 rupee notes are not widely accepted so ensure you have plenty of smaller notes.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The trip was a great introduction to Nepal and will leave you wanting to go back and explore more of the country.
