Reality Check
We will find a country with a colonial past but that has changed very little and is relatively untouched by the outside world.
The infrastructure is fairly underdeveloped for tourism and in ensuring we support local communities. It is also important to note that whilst travelling in remote or less developed regions patience may be required.
This holiday is designed so that you can see the best parts of Burma in 11 days, there is a lot to see and some of the distances covered are large! Internal flights are used to maximise your time in the key destinations, whilst minimising hours spent on the notoriously bumpy local roads.
On most travel days the average travelling time is between 2-3 hours. For a longer trip see our two week trip, Discover Burma trip code AON, that also visits Kalaw, a former colonial British hill station and spends longer at Inle Lake and Bagan.
There is no global mobile phone coverage in Burma so your phone will not work. The internet can only be accessed in Rangoon and Mandalay and is not reliable.
Normal group size and age
Normally 6 to 18, plus local leaders and local guides. Minimum age 16.

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
In order to provide a more accurate grading system, where a trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate or split grade, for example Leisurely/Moderate. Occasionally, there are optional activities available en route, in this case the optional grade is indicated in brackets, for example Grade Challenging (climb Tough+). Clearly, conditions may differ from region-to-region or month-to-month and as such the information given on these pages is designed to act as a guide only. In all cases you should refer to the respective holiday's Trip Notes for further details.
Exodus is always looking to improve our current itineraries and to offer something different. With many new trips this year, there is something unique and different to try every year.
Culture: Let Exodus show you a different side to many of the world's greatest cultural attractions.
