This trip encapsulates the magic of Vietnam: the conservative north, the rich heritage of the Imperial cities, the distinct cultures of the Central Highlands and the vibrant life of Saigon and the Mekong Delta. We come face to face with an outgoing culture, where so much goes on in the streets: eating, washing, socialising, buying and selling or impromptu games. This intoxicating parade of Vietnamese daily life may well leave us with our strongest memories, as much as the superb landscapes, the amazing cuisine and the reminders of the distant and the more recent past.

| Day 2 | Arrive Hanoi; afternoon visit Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison and the Old Quarter; water puppet show in the evening. |
| Day 3 | To Halong Bay; board boat and cruise among spectacular limestone formations; overnight on board. |
| Day 4 | Kayak and cruise around Halong Bay; return to Hanoi; rest of day at leisure. |
| Day 5 | Hanoi City tour, including Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and One-Pillar Pagoda; free afternoon in Hanoi; overnight sleeper train to Hue. |
| Day 6 | Cruise on Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. Visit the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba market by bicycle. |
| Day 7 | Visit Tu Duc Mausoleum. Cross the spectacular Hai Van Pass via Marble Mountain and China Beach to Hoi An. |
| Day 8 | Morning walking tour of Hoi An; free afternoon. |
| Day 9 | Free morning in Hoi An; fly from Da Nang to Nha Trang and enjoy the beach. |
| Day 10 | Cruise to offshore islands; swimming, snorkelling and seafood lunch. |
| Day 11 | Drive to central highlands and Lak Lake; traditional dance performance and overnight in a M'nong longhouse. |
| Day 12 | Dugout canoe on tranquil Lak Lake; elephant ride through nearby villages; evening flight to Saigon. |
| Day 13 | Morning visit the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels. Journey into the Mekong Delta; Mekong River boat ride; visit riverside village; overnight in village homestay. |
| Day 14 | Walk through fruit orchards; sampan ride through the Delta; visit a Cao Dai Temple; return to Saigon. |
| Day 15 | Day at leisure; depart evening. |
