This trip encapsulates the magic of Vietnam: the conservative north, the rich heritage of the Imperial cities, the distinct cultures of the Central Highlands and the vibrant life of Saigon and the Mekong Delta. We come face to face with an outgoing culture, where so much goes on in the streets: eating, washing, socialising, buying and selling or impromptu games. | Day 3 | To Halong Bay; board boat and cruise among spectacular limestone formations; overnight on board. |
| Day 4 | Kayak and cruise around Halong Bay; return to Hanoi; city tour including Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison and the Old Quarter; evening Water Puppet show. |
| Day 5 | Fly to Hue. Visit the Imperial Citadel. Cruise on Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. |
| Day 6 | Visit Tu Duc Mausoleum. Cross the spectacular Hai Van Pass via Marble Mountain and China Beach to Hoi An. |
| Day 7 | Morning walking tour of Hoi An; afternoon cycle to Cua Dai beach, then free time. |
| Day 8 | Free morning in Hoi An; train from Da Nang to Nha Trang. |
| Day 9 | Cruise to offshore islands; swimming, snorkelling and seafood lunch. |
| Day 10 | Drive to central highlands and Lak Lake; traditional dance performance and overnight in a M'nong longhouse. |
