Fly to Dalaman; transfer to Kas.
Transfer from hotel with the kayaks to Patara Beach (approx. 50 mins), where the Xhantos River meets the Mediterranean Sea. Before starting off, we have a safety briefing and do some basic exercises to get used to the kayaks and steering. Once completed, we begin paddling towards the Kalkan sand dunes. We break for lunch at a small cove before our last paddle to Kalkan (total distance 18 kms) and our transfer back to Kas.
This morning we will transfer from the hotel with our kayaks to Kalkan Harbour (approx. 30 mins) and begin paddling towards Kaputas Beach (9 kms). On arrival we will take a break for swimming and lunch. In the afternoon we visit the famous Blue Cave (Mavi Magara) next to Kaputas. After paddling a further 7 km along the Turquoise Coast we arrive at a pebbly beach where the day's work ends, before our transfer back to Kas.
Today we set out from Kas harbour by kayak and visit Hiyadet Bay, islands and Limanagzi Bay respectively. For centuries this natural harbour has been a shelter for ships and there's no road access to Limanagzi. After lunch in a restaurant here, we begin paddling parallel to the coastline, first visiting Big Pebble Beach and then the Port of Kas (total distance approx. 15 kms). This evening we will enjoy a highlight of the trip; dinner under the stars onboard a traditional Turkish gulet boat!
Today is our free day for relaxing and exploring Kas, a charming coastal town with a pretty harbour. Although it has become a tourist destination, Kas has retained much of its old charm. There are opportunities to walk to the ancient theatre on the peninsula as well as the nearby rock-cut tombs. The more active can try diving, canyoning or paragliding (activities bookable locally).
This morning we will transfer to our hotel in Ucagiz (Kekova) village, only 40 minutes away from Kas, where we will spend our last 2 nights. Kekova boasts some of the most impressive parts of the Turkish coastline, starting from Ucagiz village (which is accessible by road) and extending through a channel to the outer portion known as the 'dead sea'. Kekova Island covers most of the gulf and is full of ancient ruins and monuments. We begin our first paddle here from Kekova to the Ancient City of Aperlae, on the Sicak Peninsula (9 kms). A 1 km walk will bring us to the ruins on the other side of the peninsula. We will set out to visit Aquarium Bay, Tersane Bay and the Sunken City by kayak, before paddling back to our accommodation in Ucagiz (9kms).
This morning we start towards Gokkaya Bay, with swimming breaks at the coves, before heading towards the Pirate's Cave on Asirli Island, a natural sea cave used as a hideout for many years. Our next stop will be at Kalekoy where we may visit the ancient castle of Simena or relax after our 18kms paddling and enjoy a drink at a seaside cafe. After this break, we will continue another 3km on our last paddle to Ucagiz.
Fly to London.
