An excellent time.  Dave from Kas was brilliant, his passion and enthiusiasm for Turkey, its history, the people and the food made this a holiday I will remember for the rest of my life.  The group gelled, we walked, ate, drank and laughed together, quality!  The pace was just right,  we did lots, walks, boat trips, snorkelling, bbq fish on boats, without feeling rushed,...I have stayed in chill mode for a full 2 weeks since getting back and I'm trying to stay there as long as possible.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Going walking around Arycanda (Hadrians holiday residence and City in the mountains, 40 miles north of Demre, everyone from the Hittites, Greeks Romans have lived there and apparently its haunted with a clapping crowd of Roman sports spectators), then eating a veggie meal, home-cooked at one of dave's mates nearby, his wife cooked all the food, fresh that day and we sat in the back garden and ate contentedly,  superbly simple and extremely special at the same time.  For me, it summed Turkey up in a nutshell, quality!
What did you think of your group leader?
Dave , top bloke, great guide, genuine love for the country, bad jokes, great restaurants,- sorted.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
If you want to walk, talk, chill, swim and have a laugh, then go to Turkey.  Don't be freaked out when total strangers smile at you (its normal in Turkey!) just smile back and say "Miraba" , thats a greeting to be used any time of day......and relax.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

If you get the chance, on a day off or if you're staying over for an extra week or something,  head inland as well.  I went up to Gombe, 50 miles inland from Kas, snow-capped mountains and Yesil Gol (the Green Lake) , a bit wild west, off the beaten track, but another piece of Turkey.  The contrast after snorkelling in the med the day before is kind of surreal when you're standing ankle deep in snow, but its worth the trip.

Oh yes, and make sure you eat loads of Calamari, whenever possible, and lots of it. With lemon. And bread. Perfect.

Also for the blokes make sure you have a Turkish haircut, closest shave you will everhave (lasts 2 days!) head, shoulder and neck massage where they beat the hell out of your back but then you feel like a chilled out blob of jelly for the rest of the day.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
EVERYTHING!! There were SO many highlights! I was lucky enough to spend my holiday with a really lovely group of people who were really friendly, we got on very well and spent every evening together, being a single traveller it was really nice as I never got a chance to feel lonely!. On our free day a few of us got a boat to the Greek mainland, that was a real highlight as the town casta-lorezo( I not sure how its spelt!) was picture postcard and a nice place to spend a few hours! the walks we went on were hugely enjoyable, the scenery was beautiful!- I have been to Turkey twice before but never seen the rural, mountainous part of it before. I also had a turkish bath that wasnt part of the itinery but Elif the rep organised it for a few of us who had shown interest- it was heaven!!
What did you think of your group leader?
Elif was FANTASTIC!! everyone in the group had nothing but praise for her! she went out of her way to make sure everyone had a fantastic, enjoyable, holiday! she lived locally, so had tremendous knowledge of the local area which was really nice as we all discovered so much about Kas and local area. She also organised other activites such as the turkish bath, cycle hire for some of the group that wasnt in the itinery. she also organised our evening out for new year, and introduced us to some lovely restaurants/bars which we spent our evenings. she enriched my holiday in all areas!.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be aware that the hotel is very close to the local mosque so you can can hear the call to prayer very clearly! especially at dawn! however I soon got used to it and for me was part of the holiday, and sort of missed it!. If like me you go this holiday Dec-Jan time be aware it may be warm and sunny during the day it does get cold in the evening so take warm clothes too!.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I just had the most WONDERFUL experiance ever and would thoroughly recommend this holiday! It had the right mix of everything- walking and sightseeing!

Our best holiday yet.  The mixture of people within the group made for some very interesting conversations.  The group leader was great, knowledgeable for the activities and great fun at night.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Managing to do the walks each day.  We thought we'd need a break during the week but we managed to keep up and feel great for it.
What did you think of your group leader?
Behzat was great.  He was good fun at night and gave us good options for activities.  Behzat for us made the holiday a 100% success.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
    Take insect repellent!
Is there anything else you would like to add?

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Everything! Loved the walks, the scenery - both costal and mountains is brilliant. Waking up every morning to the sea view from my balcony surronded by borganvilla was amazing. Paragliding was a great exprience, as was the sea kayaking ,,,,, I could go on and on! Plus the trip to the Haman at Dalaman - steer clear of those in Kas.
What did you think of your group leader?
Tuna is a nice, chilled out person. He managed to arranged as an extra the trip to the Haman in Dalaman after my request to visit one.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't forget the Mosque nearby and the early morning call for pray. No problems with mosquitos in early July.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
It was a brilliant trip. The resturants and bars in Kas are great, we found everyone at the hotel and in Kas really friendly - especially Mehmet - great at bringing drinks to us by the pool!! Hotel has great views but that means there's a hill to walk up every evening after dinner!

This was one of the best holidays I have ever had. The view from the room's balcony at the Oreo hotel, Kas, was magnificent.  The days were filled with well organised activities and the evenings were spent visiting beautiful restaurants; all organised by the most enthusiastic guide I have come across. The group jelled immediately and everyone had a great time.

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. We had a small group (7), which made everything very easy. Hotel was basic but nice. Pool was fantastic - nice place to relax after a walk. Kas itself is very nice and easygoing - no hassles (dramatically different from the crass overcommercialisation of Marmaris).

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Very much enjoyed lunch at the Warden's house after visiting Arykanda. Simple but delicious food cooked by his wife.
What did you think of your group leader?
David was excellent. Very knowledgeable. Obviously committed to the area. Good leader without being overbearing.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Turkey has become expensive. We were paying UK, or near-UK prices, for meals, etc. Ended up spending more than expected, but given that Kas is supposed to be part of the Turkish Riviera, I suppose that's understandable. It was very hot when we visited in mid-July (upper 30s - low 40s), although with the sea breezes it didn't seem quite so bad. The heat perhaps curtailed the length of the walks. Not the trip for you if you like doing day-long walks in the mountains, but good for getting out and about in the countryside a bit.

We had a great time --our 16 year old really enjoyed the optional activities like sea kajak, para gliding and turkish bath -- more than the walking part of the trip. The good thing about it was that he could; our group leader organized everything beautifully.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Finally walking part of the Lycian trail after having heard about it two years ago and reading Kate Clow's book and trail description in spring. Esp. seeing Patana and part of the aquaduct.
What did you think of your group leader?
Mahoo was great; well organized, cheerful despite the heat and our group which was qiute diverse. Would have liked a bit more cultural/social information though.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
July is very hot for walking-- try wet bath towels and drap scarfs etc. to avoid direct contact with the sun. Drink loads of water etc etc.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Hotel Arpia a great place to stay and their dinner was one of the best we had in Kas. Very good staff who made us feel at home.
