Our feature-packed journey through the heart of Central America provides a flavour of the rich and varied culture and landscapes of Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. We spend time in the lively and beautiful colonial cities of Antigua, Granada and Leon, visit some of the region's many active and dormant volcanoes, explore the mysterious Mayan ruins of Copan and relax in the Caribbean paradise of Roatan. There are lots of activities on offer, from adventurous volcano hikes in Guatemala to spectacular diving and snorkelling on the extensive reefs of Roatan, which are accessible right from the idyllic beaches. We also have the opportunity to relax in natural hot springs and swim in the cooling waters of Lake Nicaragua.

Day 1

Fly to Guatemala City; drive to Antigua.

Day 2

Morning city tour; afternoon free for further exploration.

Day 3

Free day for optional excursions including volcano climb or Lake Atitlan visit.

Day 4

Enter Honduras; travel to Copan.

Day 5

Morning visit to Mayan ruins; optional hot springs visit.

Day 6

Drive to La Ceiba; take ferry to Roatan.

Day 7

Free day; optional activities include snorkelling, sailing and hiking.

Day 8

Ferry to mainland; drive to Lake Yojoa; afternoon visit to the 40m high Pulhapanzak Falls.

Day 9

To the border town of Danli via Tegucigalpa.

Day 10

To Leon in Nicaragua; explore the colonial city then on to Poneloya on the Pacific Coast.

Day 11

Drive to the rim of Masaya Volcano and look into its active crater; overnight in Masaya.

Day 12

Drive to Rivas; ferry to Ometepe Island on Lake Nicaragua.

Day 13

Free day; optional activities include volcano hikes, lake swimming, fishing and waterfall walks.

Day 14

Ferry to mainland; visit artisan market at Masaya; on to colonial city of Granada for city tour.

Day 15

Drive to Managua; evening depart.

Day 16

Arrive London.
