Frequently Asked Questions
About Your Trip
What is the weather like in Slovenia?
Slovenia has a mixed alpine climate with summer temperatures in the range of 18 to 25°C. In the mountains cool mornings are normally followed by warm pleasant days, with temperatures in the Alps being ideal for walking. During summer months afternoon showers of rain cool down the humidity, giving way to clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

Do I need previous rafting experience?
Water levels vary throughout the season, but as the river has different sections, both rough and calmer, it is always possible to choose a stretch of river according to the activity and the experience level. The guides’ aim will be to stretch the group just enough each day. This trip needs no previous experience, but those who have rafted, kayaked or been canyoning before should enjoy the chance to experience a new river and new surroundings. You must be able to swim to take part in this trip.

Can I book my own flights to Ljubljana?
Yes, it's not a problem to book flights yourself to Slovenia, as there are a few low cost carriers who fly the route. However, as you transfer out of town to a different part of the country, please get in touch with Exodus first so we can best advise on where and how to meet the group. The start point is possible to get to by public transport or by taxi, so just let us know if you need some advise about this!

What are costs and money like in Slovenia?
Slovenia has the Euro and is pretty reasonable, especially compared to some close neighbours! You should allow about 10EUR per lunch and 20EUR per 3 course dinner. It's about 2EUR for a coffee, 4EUR for a beer and 2EUR euro for a glass of wine.
Atms are available all around the country, but it's advisable to maybe just take some Euro cash and use this.

Sterling cash is best, and just change it locally when you arrive. You can arrange some local currency in advance but there is really no need and no advantage in doing so. ATMs are widely available as well, in case you need to top up towards the end of the trip!

No, if you hold an EU passport, you do not need any visa to travel. If you hold a non EU passport, please check with your nearest embassy.
