This was a superb holiday with a wide variety of activities available. The guides were outstanding throughout and offered a mix of encouragement and fun. The only negative was the river being very low which resulted in some scrambling over rocks but Exodus can hardly be blamed for that!
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The whitewater rafting was superb even when I fell in!
What did you think of your group leader?
Nothing was too much trouble for Blasz. He is a thoroughly competent group leader who checked every night that we were all happy.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Bring a torch if you wish to go into Kobarid.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The hotel was clean and the staff lovely.

A fantastic and fun filled holiday with a good combination of scheduled and optional activities (such as advanced canyoning, kayaking, zip line, high ropes, horse riding, biking, paragliding). You could stay busy with activities, or just choose to have a free afternoon to rest. The water is very cold – about 11-12C, but they do provide neoprene suits, so its not too bad. The worst part is probably trying to get on those tight suits – it takes some time and practice.
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Managing to jump off a 10-meter ledge at the Kozjak Falls without having to abseil down on a rope.
What did you think of your group leader?
Blaz was fantastic and managed the various activities and guides well. The guides took very good care of us and looked after safety first.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Invest in a cheap £50 waterproof camera that shoots videos as well as pictures. You need to be in decent shape as several of the activities require that you walk up steep inclines for quite a way carrying kayaks and your equipment.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Dinners at the hotel were huge portions and 4-courses, so you don’t go hungry. For lunches, there are 2 small grocery stores in Kobarid, or a few cafes. The hotel can also provide a box lunch.
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The canyoning was the best bit for me and I think a lot of people on my trip given that a lot of us did the advanced canyoning as well. Be warned though the you do have to walk a bit for both to get to the start (30 minutes top).
What did you think of your group leader?
The guides tend to mess around a lot and are a lot of fun, but if you really need their help they are absolute professionals.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
I would recommend this trip but suggest you do it earlier in the year (June or July would be fine).
A waterproof camera is a must for this kind of trip.
There is a small church quite close to the hotel which rings on the 1/4 hour from 6 in the morning so you may want earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Most activities take only the morning so you have the chance to do something else in the afternoon. If just want to hang around the hotel though, there isn't really anywhere to hang out together as it's popular for food and the tables outside are mostly taken (our group required half of the outside space in the evening when we were having our meals).

Fantastic, energetic filled holiday with fun activities daily such as canyoning, tubing or hydro speeding while laughing at your new friends as to who needs more help getting the wet suits on or off !!!
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The canyoning was a lot of fun. Loads of sliding down rocks & dropping into water. Beautiful countryside too, everywhere you looked was gorgeous around you.
What did you think of your group leader?
Blaz is excellent, very laid back but knew exactly what he was doing & very easy to deal with for his friendliness & helpful manner. The team he had around him was very good also, with each of them having perfect english.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
The hotel is nice, basic but nice enough. Its about a 20/25 mins walk outside of Kobarid. I'd advise to force yourself to head into Kobarid some of the evenings after the meal for a change of scenery, the walk home does n't seem so long when you've had a few drinks! I'd also bring a torch. And earplugs if you're a light sleeper as a church bell starts ringing from early morning every 15 mins.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Kobarid is very, very small, there's not that much to do there with only a very few restaurants & pubs to choose from, no shopping. Its a great holiday though with the drives in the morning taking only 20 mins to the river. Most afternoons you'll be free to do what you want - hiring bikes or going for a hike was a great way to do something out of the water. We'd 16 on our trip, we all got on great, you're with similar minded people so i'd advise to go ahead book & you'll have great fun & laughs.
I travelled with my 17 year old son, so both our thoughts are reflected here.
If you're looking for a truly active holiday then this is for you. We found that we had chance to try so many things that we hadn't before. Whilst the activities are pitched at beginners, everything is really well organised, everyone is well supported by both leaders and the group and there is enough free time to slot in something more advanced or personally challenging. The location itself is fantastic with stunning scenery too.
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
For me it was the fact that I found that I could do things that I would never have attempted without the support of the group eg with a fear of heights I tried paragliding and canyoning and thoroughly enjoyed both. I got such a buzz when I'd achieved something new!
I loved the kayaking and will definitely be continuing with that at home. The trip taught me that you're never too old for new challenges. Life begins at 50!
For my son, well he has no fear of anything, so he just enjoyed being able to jump off the highest rock possible (advanced canyoning), try Eskimo rolls and hydro speed through white water, whilst I knew he was in the safe hands of the very experienced guides.
What did you think of your group leader?
Blaz was fantastic, he was always around, came to see us in the evenings and ferried us around to do extra activities too - he even dropped us off and picked us up after a meal out. All of the guides who worked alongside him were brilliant too, knowledgeable, reassuring and fun. They encouraged us to persevere, without forcing anyone and laid on more challenging activities for those needing even more adrenalin.
We were the most active group he had had, he said, but everything still ran like clockwork.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't think too much about any of the activities - you are in safe hands - just enjoy them!
Dress casual and take trainers for both wet and dry activities.
Try the zip wires at Bovec, they were one of the best things I did, with incredible views.
If you have the energy, make the most of the advanced activities, the prices are reasonable so take the opportunity to so something new whilst you are there.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This was our first experience of Exodus and in fact of any adventure holiday experience and we absolutely loved it.
There was a mixture of solo travellers and couples/friends in the group but everyone stuck together and encouraged each other.
I will definitely be doing something like this again and would throughout recommend it.
And a final word from my son......woooooo hoooo, when can we go again!

A brilliant trip from start to finish. Well organised activities and every one is great fun. The guides are excellent and are always keeping an eye on you keeping you safe, and making sure you're having fun.
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Too many to mention. Jumping into deep pools from high ledges on canyoning, staying upright over some rapids in a kayak, working as a team in the rafting, speeding down the river on hydrospeed... I could go on!
What did you think of your group leader?
Blaz and his team were excellent. Safety first was always their priority, and you were always fully briefed before each activity on what to do. He also came and saw the group every night after dinner which was a nice touch, and was always willing to help organise other activities with no hassle at all. Could not fault them.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Enjoy the trip! I had never done any whitewater sports before but after this I would definitely like to do some more.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This is a great trip. Every day was different and you can do as much or as little as you want on the free day and afternoon. The activities are great fun and you dont need any previous experience. Highly recommended!
An enjoyable, fun-filled, adrenaline pumping trip to beautiful Slovenia.Don't be fooled - the week starts off gently but by the end of the week we were thoroughly worn out!
What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Although I enjoyed some of the activities more than others, I am pleased that I tried every activity on offer. Personally the canyoning was my least favourite activity, but the guides were very reassuring and seeing the photos now I am pleased I did not opt out.
What did you think of your group leader?
Blaz was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble - he was an excellent leader.
He was efficient at organising all the different activities - both those included and the optional ones.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
This is an excellent introduction to the activities on offer and is aimed at beginner level.
Try everything - you are in safe hands.
There are opportunities to relax, but our group chose to do more activities. If you do lots of activities - prepared to be worn out by the end of the week!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Blaz can arrange Paragliding if you would like a break from water based activities - we all tried and enjoyed.
Try the local grapefruit beer whilst relaxing on the terrace at the hotel.
