The start hotel is approximately 150km from the airport and will take around three and a half hours to reach by road. Therefore, we highly recommend you wait for the group at the airport and join the group transfer. It is possible to reach the start hotel by taxi, but it will cost around €100. Our accommodation will be in a comfortable private guesthouse with twin and single rooms. Most rooms have private facilities but some have shared bathrooms, however never more than two rooms share one bathroom.

Good condition Euro cash notes are usually the easiest to change, but you can also change British Pound Sterling in banks or recognised exchange shops. There is an ATM machine in Zarnesti and Brasov. We recommend that you don’t change money at the airport in Bucharest, as the rate is very poor here. You will only need very little money in the first few days and the hosts at our guesthouse will be able to help you with this until your have the opportunity to visit the bank. It is forbidden to export any Lei; surplus Romanian currency can be re-exchanged only on the production of an official bill of exchange.

Sterling cash is best, and just change it locally when you arrive. You can arrange some local currency in advance but there is really no need and no advantage in doing so. ATMs are widely available as well, in case you need to top up towards the end of the trip!

No, if you hold an EU passport, you do not need any visa to travel. If you hold a non EU passport, please check with your nearest embassy.
