A long weekend in Arctic Norway observing feeding killer whales, and the mystical Northern Lights
From October to January pods of Orcas gather in remote Tysfjord as they follow giant shoals of herring. Large groups of whales work in teams to gather the herring in unique 'carousel' style feeding - truly one of the natural world's most incredible sights. Close-up viewing with trained naturalists takes place from stable fishing boat style vessels or Zodiacs. On our first day at Tysfjord we include a trip in the larger boat. The second day is left flexible with different options available, and we ask you to book these in advance to avoid disappointment. You can choose from a second trip in the larger boat, an exhilarating Zodiac trip or a once-in-a-lifetime snorkel with the Orcas. On any of the three nights we have a chance to see the Northern Lights (weather dependent) from close to the hotel.
| Day 1 | Fly to Evenes via Oslo; transfer to Tysfjord by road and ferry. |
| Day 2 | Full day killer whale safari. |
| Day 3 | Further whale-watching either from Zodiac or large boat, with possible snorkelling (all optional). |
| Day 4 | Transfer to Evenes; fly London. |
