Visiting the most beautiful and iconic parts of Slovenia in a week

From the tranquil shores of Lake Bled to the rugged coastline of Piran, this relaxed week covers some of the most spectacular scenery Slovenia has to offer. While staying in traditional hotels and rustic farmhouse accommodation, our private minibus will transport us in comfort over high mountain passes, through lush green valleys and terraced vineyards. The itinerary, which includes guided cycling around Lake Bled and gentle walks each day, is suitable for everyone. The highlights include a trip to the awe-inspiring Skojan Caves, a fantastic dressage show by the famous Lipizaner horses and a guided tour of the attractive city of Ljubljana.

Day 1

Fly to Ljubliana; transfer to Bled.

Day 2

Guided sightseeing including biking around Lake Bled; free afternoon to visit the island and castle.

Day 3

Drive through Kransjka Gora, over the Vrsic pass, visiting historic chapel; afternoon in Kobarid with optional visit to a WW1 museum or to Charnel House, commissioned by Mussolini.

Day 4

Walk along the European Peace Trail and onto the Kozjak waterfall; afternoon drive to Goriska Brda for short vineyard tour and wine tasting.

Day 5

Scenic drive to Piran for a free day by the sea.

Day 6

Morning visit to the Skocjan Caves and afternoon trip to see the famous Lipizaner horses and dressage show.

Day 7

Head to the capital Ljubljana for short walk around open market, river area and old town.

Day 8

Visit to Skofja Loka on way to Ljubljana airport; fly to London.
