The first glimpse of the Treasury at Petra is jaw dropping, but Petra has so many more amazing sights. And Petra is not the only attraction of Jordan. Jerash, the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum are all experiences not to be missed

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Petra is the jewej of Jordan and walking down the Siq at night , lit only by candles, is awe inspiring and then to see the Treasury also lit by thousands of candles is simply breath taking
What did you think of your group leader?

Danny was very friendly and approachable, with excellent knowledge of all the sights we visited. If anything he knew so much that he continued his talk on the coach preventing us travellers from having a snooze !

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Go for it ! this is a real joy and a week to remember for ever.

When at Petra, take the walk past the Royal Palaces to the top of the cliff to see the Treasury from above. It is steep and difficult at times, but well worth the effort.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Be careful of the mule ride to the Monastery at Petra, it's more scary than riding the Big one at Blackpool, whilke blindfolded

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Exploring Petra, particularly getting up into the hills to get the full sense of the scale of the site.  Sleeping under the stars in the Wadi Rum and riding a camel as the sun came up.
What did you think of your group leader?
Full of stories and interesting bits of information to keep us entertained.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
An incredible trip to an amazing country with a brilliant group of people!

It would be hard to think of a more varied and inspiring trip encompassing the ancient world, natural history, lovely local people and fine cuisine. Our guide really was a polymath of inspiration, knowledge and good humour.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The blissful silence and exquisite colours of Wadi Rum and the desert Bedouin camp reminded one of how much simple pleasures are still central to the human experience and our contemplative side.
What did you think of your group leader?
Excellent - a man for all seasons and travellors with asense of adventure.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Try to do a few "local" things yourself. There's plenty of opportunity.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

An extra night in the Desert to have enough time to see all of te main attractions - e.g. the arch bridge, Lawrence's spring.

The Petra hotel was a bit dismal with poorly motivated staff and some facilities not working.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Petra is fantastic - great two days, be prepared to walk alot to see all it has to offer.

The night sky in Wadi Rum was stunning, in fact the whole Wadi Rum part was fantastic

What did you think of your group leader?
Khalid was very good, efficient, always there when needed and made the trip easy.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Suitable for all sorts, we had a mixed age group that got along very well. A headtorch for Wadi Rum is useful.

A great introduction into a country rich in history. The tour encompassed both archaeology, history, scenery, as well as some days by the sea!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Stunning Petra! The size of this city far exceeded my expectations. Seeing the stars at night at Wadi Rum! And lastly but not least, I can float!!! As a non-swimmer I thought I couldn't but in the Dead Sea everyone can!
What did you think of your group leader?
Our group leader was very knowledgeable. He was courteous and attentive and helpful. He was always willing to answer any question and was a source of insight into the life of the Jordanians, their politics, and social customs and lifestyle.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Others have advised on taking wet wipes and toilet roll. I would however urge all travellers to take toilet roll with them into the lavatories as they seldom have any, and you do not want to find this out too late! I would advise caution at the Wadi Rum camp, as I had an upset stomach after eating there. Don't expect anyone to speak fluent English. If you can, it is best to avoid alcohol I feel as it is clearly disapproved of in Jordan.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This was my first introduction into the Middle East. It was really quite unlike anything I had experienced before, particularly the desert which made a deep impression upon me. Petra is a must see this is a real gem. Inevitably, tourists are subjected to hawkers at every point, even in the high places you will find Bedouin selling things to the tourist. This is however understandable and one has to learn to accept it.

A magical whirlwind of the highlights of Jordan.  Each day was entirely different with activities ranging from exploring ancient ruins to floating in the  Dead Sea and snorkelling in the Red Sea.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Petra by night + star gazing at Wadi Rum.
What did you think of your group leader?
He was very knowledgable, highly accommodating and great fun.  However, he did seem to have worked out the restaurant and shop stops to his advantage, but really - who can blame him?!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Do some pre-holiday reading as a basic knowledge of the book of Exodus along with Roman and Nabotean history will add to your experience.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Food is quite expensive on this trip and the Jordanians are not big fans of the sandwich lunch - you will be buffeted and picniced out by the end!

Very helpful, well informed, patient, kind manner.

Get involved and make the most of getting to know the group and you'll have an awesome time!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
