Jordan is a lovely country: the people are friendly, the landscape is constanty changing and the historic sites have been beautifully restored.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

We had an amazing trip and my group of fellow travellers were great. It was a shame it only lasted a week.

Jerash was a lovely surprise as I had not appreciated there would be other ancient cities apart from Petra (my lack of prior research!), and a great way to start the trip.

Visiting the dead sea and covering ourselves in Dead Sea Mud was a great way for the group to bond very quickly, especially when it reacted with my sun cream and gave me orange stripes!

And well, what can I say about Petra-it lives up to every expectation and I am so glad we had 2 whole days to spend there. Although, I still didn't see it all.

What did you think of your group leader?
He was efficient and friendly, but did not necessarily blend into the group as well as other tour leaders I have had previously in other countries with exodus.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
It is more expensive than I expected, especially with the current exchange rate, but the exodus suggested amount was adequate.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

It is not at all like other middle eastern countries that I have visited previously, eg egypt. People are very friendly and welcoming and when they say hello it is not followed with the hard sell-they do just want a conversation, so you can feel really relaxed and at ease.

There is also no hassle for blonde females on their own.

I think it is an amazing country and I would love to go back as only 1 week is not long enough.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Petra is definitely the highlight and this trip gets it right allowing you to spend 2 full days there. You have to go and experience the place as no written words can capture the beauty and history of the place. Camping and camel riding in Wadi Rum were also v special
What did you think of your group leader?
Our leader (Khaled ?) was the one who made the trip very special with his combination of knowledge and enthusiasm for his country. He was very patient with what was a large group and everything went smoothly in a packed week thanks to him.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
If you go in March be prepared for colder weather as most of us did not take enough warm clothes
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I had a great time with a really good group of people from all over the world, thank you.

Although I would have liked to have spent more time in the desert I appreciate it's difficult to spend the right amount of time in each part over a week !

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

There were a few top class moments...

    • Our first glimpse of the Treasury and the view of the Monastery.
    • The rarely visited view of the Treasury - from above!
    • Petra at night.
    • The ruins of Jerash.
    • Camping in Wadi Rum, desert meal and the beautiful clear sky.
    • Floating in the Dead Sea, Snorkelling in the Red Sea.

What did you think of your group leader?
Our group leader, Mo, was excellent. A historian who loved his country, history and archaeology. He explained everything in great depth, spent time to answer our questions and looks after us impeccably. He also organised a private yacht for us in the Red Sea, took us to fabulous restaurants and took the adventurous of us to the top of the Treasury for a fabulous and rarely visit view.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Just go. We had a great time and would have no qualms about recommending to a friend.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Seeing the Treasury for the first time in Petra had to be the highlight of the trip. But Petra is so much more than just the Treasury it is also an amazing place to walk around in its own right. The first full day in Jerash was also a great surprise with the ancient city being discovered before our eyes. Oh and floating in the Dead Sea wasn't too bad either and sampling the local sweets, pastries and falafels.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Petra at night. Walking to the High Place of Petra. Meeting the Bedouins and discovering that many of them look like Johnny Depp! Climbing the sand dune in Wadi Rum and running back down it. The silence of the desert at Wadi Rum.
What did you think of your group leader?
Khaled Al Omar was a brilliant leader. Full of warmth and humour and very knowledgeable and passionate about his country.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Pack light. Take earplugs as some of the hotels are quite noisy. Some mobile phones were unable to make calls and texts were not received/sent. Best to buy a local SIM card. In Wadi Rum, if it rains (yes, it does rain in the desert!), don't put your bedding out until it stops - ours got wet. Take a walk in the desert and enjoy the silence.

All the hotels had hairdryers so it's not necessary to take one. Take sandals for the Dead Sea swim as the salt crystals are quite sharp  and can cut your feet.

This was a fantastic introduction to Jordan. Very welcoming people, stunning scenery, an excellent guide and a great group of fellow travellers. Despite variable weather and cooler temperatures (in February) this was a memorable and very enjoyable holiday. Big thanks to Exodus.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

'End of the World view' after walking up to the monastry at Petra. Stunning mountain scenery.

Some delicious Jordanian evening meals - especially all those mezze starters.

The treasury at Petra which was almost deserted except for our group (an advantage of going in February).

Scenery (and echoes) at Wadi Rum day and night.

    Running down sand dunes.

What did you think of your group leader?
Brilliant. Excellent people skills, very organised and knowledgable with a great sense of humour.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
For those going in February take warm layers of clothing!

It was the most fabulous holiday I have ever had. We had a whistle stop tour of Jordan, our guide was wonderful his knowledge was endless. Each day (which began early) was an adventure packed with fun and excitement.  Each night we fell into bed exhausted. Great group, lots of fun, lots of laughter.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
All of the trip was fantastic. Everything was planned for us. Petra took my breath away, the Treasury by candle light will remain in my memory forever. Loved the desert trip to Wadi Rum, the  desert walk at day break, the camping, and our camp hosts were ace, it was a fabulous experience even in the rain.
What did you think of your group leader?

In a word FANTASTIC ! He kept us all on task, rounding us up, no way would we have seen half of what we saw without him. He also took us to lovely local places to eat.  His pride and love of Jordan was obvious.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take enough warm clothes, February was colder and wetter than we expected.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I thought everything about the trip was fantastic- I enjoyed it so much I have just booked an Exodus holiday to India, if it is half as good as my trip to Jordan I will be happy.
