A great experience for our first 'group' tour in over 30 years of travel. It was great just being able to turn up and enjoy. Thank you Exodus!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Petra was the stand out - one of the best sights we have visited anywhere. We chose this tour because it gave us 2 full days there and we were not disappointed.
What did you think of your group leader?

Danny was great - struck a good balance between keeping us on track and giving us space.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Make sure you do the hike up to the Treasury viewpoint - a must.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Petra as Wadi Rum were beautiful, very special places as the weather was good the experience was very inspirational.

The second day walk that we did with the local bedouin lady "Henna" was fantastic.

What did you think of your group leader?

Danni has a wonderful easy  mannerisum,  and a gently spoken  informative way of putting across his considerable knowledge of the  history of his country  which he was clearly passionate about. He also was Considerate, And looked after us very well. Very responsible 5*****

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Jordan was a bit more expensive than I would expected, so I would recommend taking a bit extra for drinks, especially alcoholic drinks.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Don't hesitate to book this trip, GO FOR IT AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT !!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The first sighting of the Treasury at Petra - yes, it looks like all the pictures, but it still is magic.
What did you think of your group leader?
First class - knowledgeable, interesting, prepared to answer all kinds of questions and clearly not concerned to "give the party line".
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take a universal plug (not electrical) for wash basins.  Several of the hotels have minor snags like ill-fitting plugs, doors that fall off wardrobes and so on - so if it bothers you, and you are handy, also take a small screwdriver.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
This was our first trip with Exodus, and booked on the recommendatin of friends.  My only criticism - and I don't have a solution - is that Exodus have clearly fixed it so that one leader is sufficient in Jordan, and therefore each trip only lasts a week - but I felt that there is ample material for 9 or 10 days!  The time in Aqaba is not really satisfactory - one short afternoon is neither long enough to get seriously into the coral viewing, nor short enough to treat just as an overnight stop.  And going there means that the time available back in Amman (for the Citadel in particular) is inadequate.

So much more than expected. A guide who was passionate and informative about his Country meant that this trip was elevated from great to AMAZING.There's so much more to Jordan than I realised, great food, respectful and friendly people, plus all the exceptional historical sites up close and personal.I can recommend that you reset your compass to Jordan.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

    So many...

Beautiful sunsets in the Wadi Rum

Hot air Ballooning over the Wadi Rum

    Jerash...who knew

    and of course Petra

What did you think of your group leader?
Khaled was great. He got the balance absolutely right. We had a mixed group with several interests and abilities, however he was able to satisfy the explorer in all of us. Nothing was too much trouble and his knowledge was boundless.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
you'll need at least two t-shirts per day! It's hot and there's a fair amount of walking. Jordan is fairly westernised so whilst being respectful, shorts and t-shirts are fine for all.

A true adventure, combining amazing sightseeing with swift immersion into the life and atmosphere of the Jordanian people and the Middle East. The whole experience being enhanced by the seamless arrangements of your local guide, driver and handling agents.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
    • First view of The Treasury at Petra
    • The journey through the "secret" way into Petra led by the amazing lady Bedouin guide
    • The optional balloon trip over the desert in Wadi Rum (arranged at our request by Khalid our guide at a few hours notice)
    • The genuine kindness and welcome offered by the Jordanian people, both young and old, everywhere we went.
What did you think of your group leader?
5 *****. Very capable affable and in clear control of all aspects of the trip
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take good light weight walking boots.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

This holiday, arranged by me very much at the last minute, exceeded my expectations many fold and has re-ignighted my love of and desire to travel.

The only negative aspect was the sanitary arrangements in the Bedouin camp stay in Wadi Rum!! The loos had no running water, hence a build up of raw sewerage which was very unpleasant!! I do appreciate that the desert, as with the country as a whole, has problems with its water supply and that improvements planned by the hosts had been delayed by the serious illness of a senior family member. They more than made up for this with their hospitality. May I suggest that a composting toilet system might be the answer? Both enviromentally friendly and, if designed properly, much more pleasant for the user.

My "luggage label for life" is, sadly, enjoying a life of its own as it parted from my luggage of its own accord shortly after its arrival in Jordan. I understand from fellow travellers that some of theirs suffered a similar fate!!

Thank You to all your staff in the Uk and local handling agents for thei conributions toward an amazing holiday

With regard to the accommodation in Amman, I would have preferred this to have been more centrally located, to afford easier access to the City in free time

A fascinating and varied week with a great blend of culture and delicious food.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Looking up at the stars in Wadi Rum.
What did you think of your group leader?
Danny was a great leader.  Very proactive in terms of helping everyone on the tour, stepping in for example when I had received a terrible exchange rate at the airport!  Outstanding knowledge of Jordan and it's history and brilliant choice of restaurants.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

I was worried about 'covering up' and took long sleeved tops and trousers and long shorts.   In fact, short sleeved t shirts and shorts (though obviously not too short) are fine when going round placed like Petra where there are lots of other tourists.  I would recommend lots of changes of clothes, particularly tops, and Petra is very dusty and you get pretty dirty... I wish I'd taken more.

You don't need to take a sleeping bag for Wadi Rum - they have lots.  Mine took up half my suit case and I didn't really need it. You might want to take a sleeping bag liner and maybe a pillow case cover.

If your guide suggests the boat trip in Aqaba I would definitely recommend it.  It was fantastic - lovely boat, snorkling if you fancy it and a really nice crew.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

A great way to spend a week in a fascinating and very hospitable country.

With the current political situation, there was a degree of concern about being in such a volatile area of the world. but we need not have worried, Jordan is such a safe, relaxed and easy going country, and we were cared for so well by Danni, our guide. This trip is highly recommended for anyone who wants to get to know a country well, and who doesn't have much time. Full-on, but with Time to come up for air, I heartily recommend not just this trip, but Exodus as an organiser who really knows how to care for their customers.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Having climbed to the high places above The Treasury in Petra, and to be quite alone in such stunning surroundings, having followed a suggestion from our brilliant guide , the desert calm and the amazing colours that ARE Petra take your breath away. Nobody should consider themselves a Middle East traveller until they have experienced this.
What did you think of your group leader?
This is my fourth Exodus trip, and on every one we have enjoyed great guides. Danni was no exception. His knowledge of the trip, the places, the people and the history made each day 'come alive'. We left Jordan with a real appreciation for the country, it's people, and it's scenery - and Danni was largely responsible for this. On a trip like this, the guide can make or break things and he most certainly 'made it'. Score:- 9.99/10 (on principle I never give 10 so this is the best i could give!)
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take a good camera for Petra - its the only way to relive the colours when back home. Take a waterproof camera for the Dead Sea and the Red Sea, and an insulated cover for a water bottle (Lowe Alpine do a great one) so that you have blissfully cold water when all around you are drinking tepid water.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would have loved the chance to get to Bethany by Jordan, because of its history - we drive past the end of the road anyway!
