Reality Check
This trip can either be done as a camping safari or a lodge based safari.
Camping departures: All duties are performed by our camp staff therefore there is no need to lift a finger. Please note, however, that, although all the camp equipment is provided for you, it will be fairly basic. The campsites are all wild campsites, so there are no permanent facilities. We provide large canvas tents with a campbed and mattress for you to sleep on, There is a toilet tent and a shower tent. The shower tent is a bucket shower, where warm (if not always totally hot) water will be provided each evening. There will also be a personal washstand for everybody.
Lodge-based departures: These departures stay in a mixture of lodges and permanent tented camps. These are more comfortable than camping but are normally outside the national parks we visit.
On Safari we travel in 4WD landcruisers or landrovers. There is a roof hatch, which greatly enhances game viewing. There will be some long drives but as most of these will be in parks and conservation areas they will allow for constant animal spotting.
Normal group size and age
Normally 4 to 8, plus leader. Minimum age 16.

Icons explained
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
In order to provide a more accurate grading system, where a trip falls between two grades we use an intermediate or split grade, for example Leisurely/Moderate. Occasionally, there are optional activities available en route, in this case the optional grade is indicated in brackets, for example Grade Challenging (climb Tough+). Clearly, conditions may differ from region-to-region or month-to-month and as such the information given on these pages is designed to act as a guide only. In all cases you should refer to the respective holiday's Trip Notes for further details.
Special Interest: For those who have a passion for archaeology, food, flowers, languages or yoga. Solar eclipse and Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) departures and specialist conservation holidays are also included.
Wildlife: Trips may be wholly wildlife focused, or contain an element of wildlife viewing within a less specific itinerary.
Wilderness: Visit the deserts, jungles, plateaux, tundra and mountains of all seven continents, including Antarctica.
