Frequently Asked Questions
Trip Specific Questions
Will I be able to charge my camera batteries?
Yes! At the lodge at Lake Elementaita you will have your own room and you can therefore charge batteries with no problem. At the private camp there are facilities to charge your batteries in the main dining tent. However saying this, I would advise to take extra batteries as most passengers will want to charge batteries in the evenings so you will need to wait your turn.
Will I be able to have hot showers at the private camp?
Yes, hot showers are provided every evening in your tents. They are bucket showers that are topped up with hot water, so you need to use the water sparingly so you do not run out of water.
Is it really worth doing the Balloon Safari?
Yes, without a doubt! Nothing can prepare you for the experience of floating over the Masai Mara and seeing the animals in action from above. It is very special, and well worth the early morning start.
Has anyone writtten about this holiday in your Episodes eNewsletter articles?
Yes, Trish Collins, one of our staff members, travelled on this trip in 2008. Please read her article to get a personal viewpoint of the holiday.

General FAQs
When will we know if a trip is going ahead or not?
As soon as we have reached the minimum numbers to guarantee the departure we will let our clients know or if we intend to cancel the departure we will endeavour to advise with appropriate notice.
If you are on the group flights or have pre-arranged this, an Exodus representative will meet you on arrival and transfer you to your Start Point/Hotel.
Where can I read about the cost and different types of insurance available through Exodus?
It is a condition of joining any of our holidays that you must be insured against medical and personal accident risks (to include repatriation costs, air ambulance and helicopter rescue services). We also strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.
Our insurance policy is designed specifically to cover the potential risks on our holidays, and you should be aware that some policies do not include, or restrict, cover for this type of travel. If you do not take our policy, you must ensure that the policy you do take provides an equivalent level of protection and covers you for the activities involved.
Am I entitled to a loyalty reward?
If you've booked on two or more trips with Exodus, you will receive a 5% discount on your next Exodus booking. Dedicated travellers who've been on nine or more trips with Exodus will receive a 10% discount on all subsequent bookings.
Please note: Currently loyalty rewards cannot be applied through web bookings but you can advise us that you are eligible on the online booking form and we will check our records and your final balance will reflect your entitlement. Alternatively, please call 0845 330 6008 and speak to one of our travel experts.
Where can I get health and vaccination advice for my holiday?
We recommend Nomad Travel Stores & Clinics - Nomad provide expert advice on vaccinations, anti-malarials and staying healthy whilst overseas and we're delighted Nomad are also offering all Exodus customers 15% off any kit and 10% off vaccinations online or in any of their stores.
Where can I find all the practical information about this holiday?
If you download the trip notes from each trip screen, you'll find all (or nearly all!) of the information that you require about each holiday. Amongst other things, the trip notes contain useful information about: group flights; airport transfers; day-to-day activities; climate; accommodation; food; transport; insurance; visas; vaccinations; money issues; what to take; and reading lists.
