I was nervous about this particular holiday, being a non-camping, inactive arachnophobe but overall I thoroughy enjoyed it.  It was something I'd always wanted to do but had held back because of my fears so I'm glad I finally got there.   I even got to like my tent!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Several:  visiting the Masai village, joining in the fertility song with the ladies in their colourful kangas!  Seeing not one but two leopards, plus lion cubs and a baby elephant; flamingos like a mirage on the lake; wildebeest resembling a moving carpet across the plains; two cheetahs lounging under a tree in the middle of nowhere.  And I didn't know that pelicans could fly so high!  There is such a variety and quantity of wildlife that every moment is an experience in itself.

What did you think of your group leader?

The two we had were knowledgeable and patient.  They were very willing to turn around and drive somewhere else in order for us to get another sighting.  They complemented each other:  Ben was sharp-witted; Dan had gentle Masai dignity.

Must also mention the guys at Kicheche private camp, who looked after us with quiet efficiency.  Nothing was too much trouble.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Kenya needs the tourism and now is the time to go - it's not that busy and you may often have a sighting of the animals all to yourself.  And don't worry about spiders, snakes or scorpions!
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Other experiences included hot water bottles and hippos; bucket showers and afternoon tea at bush camp and the incident of the baboon and the banana biscuit!

The only criticism is the farrago we had getting there and back.  Though it wasn't Exodus' fault, it was unnerving to arrive at Heathrow to find our names were not on the passenger list; and at Nairobi, on our return, to be told that the aircraft was overbooked and we were going to be put on a plane 24 hours later.

A fantastic holiday.  The camp we stayed at in the Massi Mara was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff and they had thought of everything (including hot water bottles in your bed!)  Food excellent and the 'tents' were great including the bucket showers.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Being so close to wild animals.  I expected to see them but never thought we would be so close!
What did you think of your group leader?
Brilliant.  Our leader Charles was very thoughtful and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him.  He had a wealth of information which he was only too happy to share.  He really went out of his way to make sure we saw as much as possible and was very patient with our endless picture taking!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Pack long trousers (which I did not) and expect after very hot days for it to get cold at night

The roads in Kenya are not good so expect some long and bumpy journeys

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I could recommend this trip to anyone.  My first safari and I cannot imagine a better one.  It totally surpassed my expectations.

This was a great trip in a beautiful country.  A perfect introduction to Africa for anyone who has not been before.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The countryside is wonderful and as in other African countries gives a great sense of peace.  There was some great wildlife.  Baby elephants are so special; we saw a few very naughty ones.  Watching a cheetah hunt with her cubs was fantastic.  Taking a hot air balloon trip was well worth the money.

Sleeping in our fabulous camp with just canvas between me and the elephant and lion roars was magical.

What did you think of your group leader?
Davies was a terrific leader, very knowledgeable and with a dry sense of humour.  I was there just after the presidential elections when there was serious civil unrest.  Davies made it a really enjoyable trip whilst never compromising our safety.  His skills in ensuring that everyone in the group was happy with arrangements were worthy of the United Nations!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take money in US dollars and change some into Kenya shillings at the airport.  You need local currency.  Take money with you on all trips as you may want to buy something.  Pack less than you think you'll need as you won't need it!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
    Just go!

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Be prepared for very long hours on dreadful roads - the brochure underplayed that significantly.
