Travel is by 4WD vehicles. This is a demanding trip in an area with little infrastructure and rough roads.

Reality Check
Tourism has increased rapidly in this region over the past few years, yet the accommodation and infrastructure has not kept pace with this. Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries in the world and some of the hotels remain very basic.
Please leave behind your western comforts! Please be sensitive to the local people when taking photos. Always ask their permission first and try and build up a rapport with the person before making a request. Many of them will not want their photo to be taken and this should be respected.
Some people in the frequently visited villages, however, can be a little pushy in their desire to be photographed as this provides them with additional income.
There is a long drive on day 8 that takes about 8 hours and includes a visit to the Kara people.
We endeavour to fulfil the programme, weather permitting, but may make changes to the order in which we do it. Please come prepared for an exciting adventure with a sense of humour!
Normal group size and age
Normally 6 to 18, plus leader and local staff. Minimum age 18.

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
