Travel by specialist overland vehicle, 4WD in Masai Mara and on foot in search of gorillas!

Accommodation

11 nights full-service camping in variety of campsites, some quite basic, with 6 nights in permanent tented camps with shared facilities, 3 nights standard hotels with en suite facilities.

Forward itinerary (Nairobi to Kigali): 14 breakfasts, 14 lunches and 13 dinners included. Reverse itinerary (Kigali to Nairobi): 14 breakfasts, 15 lunches and 13 dinners included.

Reality Check

We offer a full service camping safari therefore tents will be erected and meals will be prepared for you unless you wish to help! We have our own cook who shops, prepares and cooks all camping meals.

Transport is in a specialist overland vehicle, with good all-round visibility plus 4WD in the Masai Mara. There will be several early morning starts especially to view the wildlife, and a few long drives. Although the distances are not that great, some of the roads are quite poor and bumpy especially after the rainy season. We include breaks for toilet facilities, shopping, photos and meals. The spectacular scenery and glimpses of village life when travelling make the journeys more enjoyable but come prepared with a sense of adventure and a sense of humour for the holiday of a lifetime.

Misc

Migration
The great migration that occurs between Kenya and Tanzania each year is one of the natural world's greatest spectacles. Over a million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of Thompson's gazelle and zebra take part in this momentous circular journey in search of food and water.

During migration season in the Masai Mara (usually August to October), expect to see massed herds of animals as they cross rivers to reach grazing areas. In Tanzania the migration usually visits the Serengeti and areas surrounding Ngorongoro between January and February. Here the migration is much more spread out as the herds roam the plains.

The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.

Wildlife: Trips may be wholly wildlife focused, or contain an element of wildlife viewing within a less specific itinerary.

Wilderness: Visit the deserts, jungles, plateaux, tundra and mountains of all seven continents, including Antarctica.

For those clients who wish to travel with a group of other solo/single travellers, on certain trips we have set aside departure dates that are specifically recommended for clients booking individually. Solo departures are aimed at taking away that concern that you may be the only solo traveller when you arrive overseas. Look out for the solo departures (marked with a grey icon's') by checking the notes in the dates and prices table.
However, please note that we inform any couples, or friends travelling together, who enquire about these dates that the trip is recommended for solos, but we do not refuse bookings from non-solo travellers, and we are therefore not able to guarantee that a solo departure will be exclusively made up of solo travellers.
