A fantastic three and a half week journey through the heart of Africa

From Dar es Salaam we travel to Zanzibar for three days exploring the island and relaxing on the beaches. Leaving Dar again we travel south through Mikumi National Park and on towards Malawi. After a relaxing night by the lake, we travel up the Rift Valley to explore the Viphya Mountains at Luwawa. Crossing into Zambia we visit the fabulous South Luangwa National Park before arriving in Livingstone, where the mighty Zambezi River cascades over the Victoria Falls. From here we continue into Botswana visiting Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta before arriving in Johannesburg.

Day 1	Depart London.
Day 2	Arrive Dar es Salaam, transfer to Zanzibar by ferry. Explore Stone Town.
Day 3	Optional Spice Tour; transfer to beach accommodation at Nungwi.
Day 4	Free day for optional activites.
Day 5	Return to Dar es Salaam.
Day 6	Long drive through Southern Tanzania, including Mikumi N.P.
Day 7	To Tukuyu at the top of the Kipengere Mountains; optional tea plantation tour.
Day 8	Drive into Malawi and camp beside the lake.
Day 9	Head south along Lake Malawi before driving up the Rift Valley; continue to the Viphya Mountains.
Day 10	Free day for walking, canoeing, mountain biking and visiting waterfalls.
Day 11	Drive into Zambia and the beautiful South Luangwa N.P.
Day 12	Morning and evening game drive/walk and optional village visit.
Day 13	To Chipata and along the Great East Road.
Day 14	Continue to Lusaka. Optional evening in town.
Day 15	To Livingstone; visit the Victoria Falls. Optional sunset cruise.
Day 16	Free day in Livingstone for optional activities.
Day 17	Free morning. To Botswana and Chobe N.P; afternoon cruise.
Day 18	Drive to Maun via Nata, passing Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans.
Day 19	Transfer into Okavango Delta by 4WD and mokoro (dug out canoe).
Day 20	Game walks and mokoro; return to Maun. Optional scenic flight over delta.
Day 21	Drive Trans-Kalahari Highway; camp in the Kalahari Desert.
Day 22	Arrive Johannesburg.
Day 23	Free day for exploring or optional township tour. Evening depart.
Day 24	Arrive London
