    A good overland trip with varied wildlife viewing. Some long days travelling-some scope to adjust route to reduce travel times on day cGt Zimbabwe to South Africa and the subsequent day;

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

    Activities at Antelop park

Rhino traxcking on foot-shame the Cecil Rhodes burial spot not part of standard trip(Extra money required!)

    Walk in Hwange with ranger

    Boat trip Chobe

Cave drawings in Matopas-why noit plan a walk around several cavesa! LOcal guide said could be arranged

Great Zimbabwe walk( Although some of group could not manage steep walk!

Hot Spa camp in South Africa

    & Game Viewing Kruger

What did you think of your group leader?

Crispin was organised and gave  appropriate advice and daily updates. He worked well with drivwer and cook, and organising  food, tents etc.

Dealt with group conflects well anmd diplomatically.

My only comment is that he did not collect a tip kitty-resulting in uncertainty and incosistency in tipping.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take warm clothes and sleeping bags if going in July August.

Upgrades to cabins often available at some stays from only $5 per head

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I booked trip among other reasons to stay again in Miombo lodge-it was very dissapointing that this removed from the trip.

Not sure we needed three days in Victoria falls- cut out one day and why not include sunset cruise on Zambesi on arrival day?

Place we stayed in Vic falls (Tokki lodge) a bit basic not as good as campt site you use on Cape town to Vic falls route. but very very clean and friendly-and easy walk into Vic falls.

THe stay  on Main Camp in Hwange makes sense in many ways being next to the park  but the camp althouigh clean is neglected, poor maintenance of toilets, broken windows,  fence gaps etc . The current programme does not have anything during all day in Hwange main camp following the dawn game ride. Whilst the game walk was promised it nearly did not happen due to claims of no staff from trhe camp being available for two separate groups.Crispin did well to negotitiate this-but  one group had to start tpp early  in afternoon when it was too hot for them and the game.

After group discussions I got Cripsin to book jeeps  through Miombo (grouop paid) so we could go to the Wange Safari lodge hotel to see game at the waterhole and then to go back into the Hwange park for game viwing from a platform (Nvotoldndhu) , Without this sort of addition  activity it would be a really wasted boring day with nothing to do at the camp.

Other group members suggested visiting a school (Easy to arrange in nearby Dete St Francis Xavier the nearest) the red cross centre; another option could be to have a local lunch at a family lodge- Simon at Miombo could arrange if given notice; other options to fill the day  would be staying at one of the camps in Hwange- game viewing can be much better near Kennedy 1 and Kennedy two area. The -painted dog centre is an imprssive building / site but as every other time only had three painted dogs there. The group were not particularly impressed with the outing

Although border crossing to SA quick it was a long day-  arrival at camp at dusk .Nice place to chill out nevertheless-wonderful toilets after Great Zimbabwe and Hwange!

Matopas- Should include in tour sunset at Cecil Rhodes burial place-wonderful spot we did not get too. I think a second day here could be really good- plan a walk to several caves -guide said possible.

After day crossing border we then spent all next day travelling to central Kruger-. Why not put extra day into programme to allow time to travel slowly down through Kruger?

Journey from Krger to J Burg long -but Crispin not clear on journey times and had some grief with some of the group who thought we would miss flights! He attempted to get help from his boss (A lady leading next trip) but she was not able to clarify things. In fact journey and times all worked very well. Got to airport in time despite fears.

Cripin and JB both really excellent guide and driver. However thois was the first time recently doing the route- and we did have some route problems in SA.

Would have been nice to have longer-hot spa really good place to chill out!

Great Zimbabwe-excellent as was Rhino ttracking in Matopas.

Hope this helps revciewing future trips. It was enjoyable and had a good variet!

I think and the group generally thought it had a lot to offer-some tinkerings would improve in particular day at Hwange( activities after game drive), Matopas (cave walk)and long travel days before and after crossing SA border(suggest extra day-route through park even if slow drive!)!

A great way to see Zimbabwe and the Ktuger National Park. Botswana was short but we managed to see a wide variety of wildlife while we were there

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The Victoria Falls, we did an optional excursion for a helcopter ride which was really worth the money even if the flight was short, also seeing a lepoard in the Kruger was a high light
What did you think of your group leader?
Tour Leader was excellent and as the trip was new managed to sort out a few problems without too much trouble
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take lots of warm clothing, I would recommend a hot water bottle for game drives as some of the trips were very early starts and we were very cold
Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would recommend visiting Zimbabwe, tourism is still struggling there so it was nice to feel that we were contributing to some villages by visiting
