Reality Check
This trip visits some remote areas where infrastructure can be limited. We do, however, bring along everything we need to be fully self-sufficient including solar showers and wash-basins.
Even though this is a camping trip, including some wild camping, it is comfortable, full service camping where camp is set up for you and the delicious meals cooked by our camp-staff (see Accommodation section for more details).
There are some long drives on dirt roads, though these are through stunning landscapes as well as on game drives.
This is a trip for anyone who is ready to get away from the normal tourist trail and explore a remote but fascinating part of Southern Africa. A hardly inhabited area of dramatic beauty where age-old tribes eke out a nomadic existence and game roam outside of national parks.
Normal group size and age
Normally 4 to 12 passengers accompanied by a local leader/guide(s) and camp staff. Minimum age 16.
Icons explained
The vast majority of Exodus adventures are adult group holidays. Groups are always small in size. We strongly believe that this adherence to small groups means a better experience for all; more time with your guide, less waiting around and a reduced impact on the communities and environments visited.
Each group is generally made up of like-minded travellers - with singles, couples and friends all joining in together.
All these trips are suitable for single travellers, but if you prefer to travel with clients booking individually, please
see our Solo Departures page.
Where you stay is a crucial part of a holiday, and we have gone to great lengths to find accommodation that provides extra comfort, character, convenience and value. Five-star hotels won’t feature on the agenda, but itineraries guarantee a greater degree of comfort after your day’s efforts.
Requires a spirit of adventure and some fitness, as the trip may involve more activities or longer journeys.
Special Interest: For those who have a passion for archaeology, food, flowers, languages or yoga. Solar eclipse and Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) departures and specialist conservation holidays are also included.
Wildlife: Trips may be wholly wildlife focused, or contain an element of wildlife viewing within a less specific itinerary.
Wilderness: Visit the deserts, jungles, plateaux, tundra and mountains of all seven continents, including Antarctica.
