A stunning itinerary with bags of variety and breathtaking locations. The mix of people is crucial and it helps to have a sense of adventure and a sense of humour, too!

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

    Where do you start?

The dunes at sunrise, perhaps or the amazing nightime scenes round the waterhole.

What about the leopard that ignored us from a few feet away as he went about his business...?

Getting drenched through and through whilst photographing the rainbow over Vic Falls with a bunch of like minded friends must rate pretty highly!

The clear night sky with a million stars....

    Take your pick.

What did you think of your group leader?
Ronnie was very helpful and well organised. We could probably have done with some more local information as we went along but he was very forthcoming when asked anything.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take along your sense of adventure attached firmly to your sense of humour and be prepared to adapt!

Go with a ready-primed sense of wonder and you cannot be disappointed.

It also helps to accept that the journey IS the adventure.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

    Do it!

A great road trip, taking in all that Namibia has to offer with some extreme sports, safari and river cruises thrown in.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Too many good moments, but Cape Town for the great restauarants and scenery, Fish river canyon at sunset, the dunes of Namibia at dawn, game drive and river safari in Chobe and of course Victoria falls (Where we got soaked to the skin!)
What did you think of your group leader?

Our tour leader Ronnie Kavari was great, abley assisted by the cook Jonas. Both were very knowledgable and did everything they could to make the trip and smooth and enjoyable as possible. One day the truck broke down  (and couldn't be repaired) and Ronnie pulled out all the stops and got us back on the road in a few hours.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Without wishing to state the obvious, Africa is BIG. We drove about 3300 miles in 3 weeks! So that means there are days when you are in the truck most of the time. Plenty of short stops and stunning scenery but you simply have to eat up the miles! Also to see the animals on Safari or to see the sun rise you have to be up EARLY! - 4.30am on occassion.  A "lie in" is a 7am start.

But if you see a Leopard at 6.15am or the sun light up the Nambian dunes you'll soon forget the lack of sleep!

Really consider getting to Cape Town a day or two early as there is so much to see and do it would be a shame to miss it all.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
A great trip. If you're new to Africa also consider Cape Town to Johannesburg. Really different scenery and equally as rewarding.

The itinerary was the major reason for choosing this holiday.  It fulfilled all of our expectations but the vehicle, although kept clean and well driven, was poor in terms of comfort and visibility compared with vehicles used by other adventure companies with whom we have travelled.  Travelling times indicated in the itinerary were rather optimistic!

Everyone should be aware that they are expected to assist with domestic chores e.g. preparation of lunch etc.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
My comments are intended to offer constructive criticism and if published should be used in full without selective editing.

Some very, very, long days spent travelling in a truck, especially in Namibia.  All "water" locations were excellent (Orange River, Okavango, Chobe etc.).

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

    3 things stood out:-

seeing a whale, with her calf, right by the shoreline, near Capetown.

watching a leopard for about 90mins, from being with its kill in a tree to coming down and walking to a water hole.

Victoria Falls - even with little water - absolutely stunning.

What did you think of your group leader?
Our group leader was very good at problem solving (and we did have a few) and very good at bird spotting.  He could have given a bit more information about things on the itinerary.  It was unfortunate that he sat in the front of the truck with the driver, so there was little information passed whilst en route.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Take most of your currency in rands - you only really need US dollars in Zambia.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Definitely best to start in Capetown and gradually work your way to the best bits at the end.

A great holiday, extremely well run, splendid scenery and masses of game to observe. However there are some long days driving on non tarmac roads so be prepared.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Flying over Victoria Falls in a microlight. Watching game within Etosha Nation Park. Eating out of an evening under the stars around a camp fire.
What did you think of your group leader?
Absolutely brilliant. Said he would look after us and give us a good holiday, this is exactly what he did. His observation skills and knowledge of his evironment was outstanding.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Yes be prepared for some long days driving, but the rewards are there to be had in doing so. Also be very familiar with you camera, practising at home before you go will pay dividends
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Take the oppurtunity to do an activity that you would normally never consider doing.

A memorable trip with some amazing scenery and many highlights, especially the dunes and Victoria Falls.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The view from the top of Dune 45 was awe inspiring and well worth the effort.
What did you think of your group leader?
The Group Leader and Driver were both helpful, good fun and wonderful cooks.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

The itinerary often vastly under-estimated the length of the drives and you frequently ended up with very little time at your destination to relax and enjoy your location.  The truck lets the trip down as it lacks onboard storage (for hats, water, binoculars, etc. - take a small day bag to put by your feet), has restricted viewing on the game drives when full and some of the seats have seen better days and so aren't comfortable for the long drives - back cushions come in handy.
We took South African Rand and this was accepted nearly everywhere, avoiding the need to regularly change currency.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
This isn't the best trip for game viewing or interacting with different cultures (we were distinctly unwelcome when we did a village tour) but offers the chance to witness the stunning and ever-changing scenery in this part of Africa.
Aside from the few niggles, the trip was excellent.

Truly my trip of a lifetime, even when the van broke down.....

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The main points which I would say are the

    Elephant swimming in the Chobe

    Seeing the hippos eating

    Etosh NP

    The Bungi jump

    Elephant Safari.

    Dune 45

The biggest thing for me personally was Victoria Falls, truly amazing also got to see the Lunar eclipse and also the Lunar Rainbow.

What did you think of your group leader?

I think we were fortunate, in my opinion, to have a fantastic guide in Ronney and an amazing and talented cook in Gecko, who were always up for a laugh and thought that the whole group were mad !

I cannot praise Ronney enough for saving my holiday at the end by turning up with my passport which I stupidly left in the van.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Advice wise, take a good sleeping bag if travelling from the months of May to june, as it can get really really cold at night ( this is coming from a Scottish girl so you have been warned), also take a good head torch as well !

You don't need to take as many clothes as I though, you have the chance to do some laundry at certain stops.

Take lots of memory cards for the camera and batteries or a charger as you will go through them in no time.

Charging facilities on the van are great ( our van was provided by Mabaruli) with everyone being able to charge the ipod at the same time !

Money wise, the trip notes state to take most in Sterling or Dollars, I would say don't!

In Capetown my Clydesdale Bank Sterling £20 note was not accepted as they said it was not English? and all the places you go to accept Rand. I would say take Dollars to Livingstone Zambia as most of the activities are paid this way and most of the shops charge in Dollars as well.

If you get the chance, and its a full Moon, go see the Lunar Rainbow, spectacular !!

The food is amazing, the people are friendly and its a trip of a lifetime go and Enjoy all of it !

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Pay attention to the tour guides when they are giving you advice.

The camping is good, tents are of a good quality and the food that we had was much much much better than you would expect from a campfire.

I had an AMAZING time made all the more great by the people on the trip and the trip leaders. I would do this trip again and again !!
