Dramatic views of the Dachstein Plateau Comfortable hotel with wellness facilities No single room supplement
Mostly known for the quality of its cross-country skiing trails, Ramsau and the Dachstein Plateau are also a fantastic destination for snowshoeing. Nestled in this little Austrian town and the surrounding mountains are numerous winding snowshoe trails just waiting to be explored.
Each day we strap on our snowshoes and follow our guide through sparkling snowy forests and alpine pastures, taking in the best of the scenery before heading back to relax in our hotel. The family-run Hotel Rösslhof is the perfect base for our week, offering a warm welcome, comfortable rooms and delicious food often prepared with products from the family farm.
Ramsau is beautifully framed by the Dachstein mountain range to the north and the Schladming Tauern to the south, forming an impressive backdrop to the week as we enjoy the trails and perhaps the odd coffee and cake stop along the way too!
What makes this trip responsible?
We use the family-owned and run Hotel Rösslhof, which contributes directly to the local community by employing local staff. The meals offered at the hotel restaurant draw on traditional Austrian cuisine and are prepared with organic products from the hotel’s own farm. All our leaders are committed to Responsible Tourism and have received training and get additional refresher training on a regular basis so they can help you reduce you impact and maximise the benefits to the local communities from your visit.
