Countries Visited: Austria
- Chaming tyrolean valleys and high alpine peaks
- Comfortable family-run hotel
- No extra charge for single rooms

From the charming village of Trins we venture into three different valleys in the heart of the Tyrol, each offering an immense range of interesting and attractive walking amid spectacular alpine scenery. Walking paths ascend directly into Gschnitz and Obernbergtal Valleys where we enjoy walking along winter paths and through forests under the impressive flanks of the rugged Stubai mountains. Our journey into the Schmirntal Valley, which rises east into the Zillertal Alps, offers other equally impressive panoramas and the chance to experience an exciting toboggan run. We may also choose to explore the high rolling plateau of Maria Waldrast (1700m), a unique mountain location above Trins, which is home to a former mediaeval Servite monastery. Each walk allows us to stop for refreshments in traditional mountain huts, where we have the opportunity to savour some traditionnal Tyrolean cuisine.
New Year at the Wienerhof
For our New Year departure, the Hotel Wienerhof offers a traditional programme of live music, fireworks, special snacks and drinks and above all, a warm welcome!
During your week in Trins, enjoy some mulled wine, a traditional farmers' breakfast one morning and of course a fantastic gala dinner for New Year's Eve, with traditional live music.
Trins & The Three Valleys - cross-country ski trip
Trins & The Three Valleys: Don't forget that our cross-country ski trip to Trins also stays at Hotel Wienerhof (see CXT for trip details). The trip runs on some Winter Walking dates, so it is possible for two people to share a room but enjoy different activities. |
