What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The point when my eye lashes froze shut, and then unfroze with some hot chocolate and good conversation.
What did you think of your group leader?
Really friendly and approachable and sorted everything out.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

It is an Austrian sauna - so technically you have to be naked, but Bob provided us with towel dressing gowns.

Check the weather and bring appropriate warm clothing

Absolutely as it is described.  Lovely quiet beautiful area with no maddening ski resorts. The locals are charming and very helpful. Each walk was well thought out, reasonably level and a comfortable day out with stops and refreshments...all within the beauty of tyrol charm. A enchanting mix of fellow walkers substantially added to a wonderfully memorable trip. I highly recommend Trins above many other destinations..and I am well travelled

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
    • Walking in wonderful big snowy scenery at -20c and feeling warm.
    • Every snow covered tree, stream and tyrol house a photo opportunity.
    • Sampling the various local Schnapps
    • Knowing we were the only people visiting a valley.
What did you think of your group leader?
Very knowledgable of the area. Just like a swan, quietly working hard behind a serene appearance.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take layers, good gloves and a good camera.

    Take a good appitite

Is there anything else you would like to add?
    • Just imagine the perfect Christmas scene
    • I bet you'll be sad enough to be humming "The Sound of Music"............ maddeningly I did
    • Even worse, knowing the lyrics to "The Lonesome Goat Herder".............I was savered, others had no hope.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Trins is situated in a very quiet and peaceful valley amongst beautiful mountain scenery.
What did you think of your group leader?
The group leader Bob Mason instills confidence as he is thoroughly familiar with the area. The walks are of a varied nature with options for those who might want to linger longer in a cosy restaurant after lunch.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
The hotel is homely and welcoming. The food is excellent and varied, including the desserts which are better than usually offered in European hotels.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
The scenery and nature were spectacular - visually stunning. However the crisp cold mountain air was a real revelation, which left me feeling invigorated and cleansed.
What did you think of your group leader?
Leader maintained safety at all times. His historical and geographical knowledge was wide and was presented in a informative and interesting manner. He socialised a great deal with the whole of the group and remained supportive throughout.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Check the forecast as it was a relatively mild week and we did not use half of the clothes that were taken. The bar area in the hotel is still a smoking room, therefore prepare yourselves for smokey clothes and a little passive smoking.
Is there anything else you would like to add?

Exodus have prepared a superb walking holiday which exceeded all personal expectations. Thanks Exodus.

Totally exceeded my expectations! I had never been on an organised holiday before so was naturally apprehensive about what to expect. From arriving at the airport I felt entirely 'looked after'. We were a small group who were soon at ease with each other and as each day passed we gained a small insight into our individual lives as well as enjoying a shared interest (a few shared interests if you include food and drink!).

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Without a doubt - the stunning scenery and fresh alpine air! When describing my trip to friends and family I have been unable to put into words how I felt each day walking through the snow with that scenery all around me. Truly awesome!

What did you think of your group leader?
Bob's THE man! A gentle and patient man who was considerate of the individual needs and differences of the group. His knowledge of the area is vast and his passion clear. Under his guidance and care I felt that I had a comprehensive and varied overview of the area. From being collected at the airport the only decisions I needed to make all week was whether to have meat, fish or veggie for my tea and I loved it! Bob sorted the rest!
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take thin layers. The weather was unseasonably warm which was great for us as there was clear blue sky and sun each day but the differing temperatures as you went in and out of the shade meant you were either peeling off layers or putting them back on. The hotel and rooms were very warm so no need to wrap up in the evenings.

Don't forget your sunglasses and suncream. My face took on a nice subtle tan which looked a bit odd on my return to work as my neck and arms had obviously remained lily white!

Nice to have sucky sweets to enjoy on your walks but don't bother with any other snacks - there is more food than you can shake a stick at. You will NOT go hungry!

Is there anything else you would like to add?
Clearly I had the most fabulous time. I have never felt so relaxed from a holiday. It passed at a nice pace and one week on I am still feeling the love! I would certainly recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys walking, talking, drinking and eating. I am hooked - want more!

The 5 walks were excellent and at the level we hoped they would be - moderate.  There was plenty of good food at the refreshment stops along the way.  Hotel Wienerhof was warm and comfortable with good food.  Only downside, smoky bar.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The toboggan run.  Hadn't been on one for years.  I wasn't very good at it but I felt good for having had a go.

On the rest day - just sitting in the sunshire relaxing, eating, drinking and watching the energetic skiiers of all ages on the ski slopes of Steinach.

What did you think of your group leader?
Bob is excellent.  His walks were well organised; his local and general knowledge is extensive; he pays great attention to detail; he has lots of ideas and he endeavours to look after his walkers who have a range of abilities.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Hotel Wienerhof can be very warm in the evenings - pack some light tops and you will be more comfortable!
Is there anything else you would like to add?

A good leader makes or breaks this type of holiday and Bob is great.

Would like Exodus to add some more winter walking (in snow!) holidays, in other areas, to their brochure e.g. French Alps, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bavarian Alps.

Our first visit to the Tyrol turned out to be a particularly good one. A thoroughly enjoyable trip from start to finish.

Superb mountain scenery viewed from forest clearings in total silence.

Bob made a huge contribution to the enjoyment of the trip, mainly due to his knowledge, both local and general, which added to the interest of the walks.
Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Wrap up warm and take plenty of photo's. Do have a go at tobogganing - it's great fun!
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Don't expect to lose weight! The food is very good and there's plenty of it.
