A very enjoyable week, great walks, wonderful company and smashing food. I've waited a long time to holiday in Austria and I wasn't disapointed, I even plan to return with Exodus in summer and perhaps next winter to try some more cross country skiing.
- What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?
Which to choose? Easy really.
Helping a very nice young lady (I'll spare her blushes) in our group off a mountain on our last walk, she is partially sighted, we were loosing daylight and in forest, so it was becoming a bit of a struggle for her and eventually me as I'd forgot my head torch. We kept in touch and are now dating. A very happy ending to a wonderful holiday.
- What did you think of your group leader?
Bob. Yet another very good leader with a passion for the area he leads in. He has been leading in Trins for some years now and knows the area well. I look forward to walking and or skiing with him out there again.
He did get a hard time from our group though, it must be really quiet without us. tee hee.
- Do you have any advice for potential travellers?
Don't eat the yellow snow.
Don't walk in the ski tracks.
Don't do like I did and unintentionally leave your head torch in the hotel. It really isn't much use there if for some reason you don't get back before the sun goes down.
Don't sit at the round table in the bar area. This is for the hairy farmers.
- Is there anything else you would like to add?
Dumplings. An ongoing topic of our trip. Well for two of us anyway.
Cake O'clock. The period between getting back to the hotel from a walk and going for a shower/sauna before dinner.
