Fly to Lyon and transfer to the beautiful village of Villard de Lans (approx 1.5 hours). Villard de Lans is a small town of 5000 inhabitants located in the Vercors Regional Natural Park. This limestone plateau has numerous caves and served as a safe, defensible position during World War II, so there are many monuments that act as a reminder of the French Resistance. After dinner we will be briefed by our leader.
Vercors offers very different landscapes from very sharp cliffs to vast forests. Today we enjoy a perfect introduction to the area and enjoy a circular walk across the rich forest of the park, with the added benefit of trying to spot some wild animals.
Ascent: 652m Distance: 11 km
This fabulous walk takes us to Col Vert pass, where we absorb fantastic panoramic views over the Ecrins and Oisans mountain ranges. Another opportunity awaits us to spot some ibex or chamois.

Enjoy the morning at your own pace before transferring back to Lyon Airport.
