    This trip was planned a year in advance for my 40th birthday, we were careful to book a trip that gave us lots to do. We had a wonderful time. The balance between group activity and free time was great, we enjoyed being with the group, just as much as we enjoyed doing our own thing. I would highly recommend this trip.

    We both had a wonderfully  peaceful, tranquil stay at Basecamp. Food was exellent all week with variety thoughout. We love it at Basecamp and will be going back soon.

    This was a wonderful week. The location is absolutely superb - right by a frozen lake and surrounded by the forests of the national park - it is very peaceful and very beautiful. There are lots of activities arranged but it is also really easy to get out on your own, with cross-country skiis and snow-shoes available to borrow after the initial instruction session. The equipment was all of a very high quality and the food was superb. I would really recommend this trip for a snowy break.

    Basecamp Oulanka was a wonderful place - peaceful, remote and exactly what we wanted for this holiday.  The staff were all brilliant and helpful - it was more like being part of a family than being at a hotel.

    If you are not sure winter activity holidays are for you try this week out. I leant the basics of cross country skiing and snow shoe walking. Found out I had not forgotten my dog sledging skills. Even spent the night in a snow house built with my own hands ( plus a few friends).

    What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

    Being in the wilderness park whether it be snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snow mobiling (When you stop) you can hear sounds all around animals, birds, trees, the river flowing just as nature intended. Add all that the wonderful people at Basecamp Oulanka who are passionate about what they do and the world seems a better place - I felt very relaxed and refreshed thoughly inspired after the holiday and will be sorting out a break in Finland soon.

    Had a brilliant time, amongst wonderful scenery, with expert tuition in every activity and the emphasis on having fun.The quality of equipment and clothing that were provided was outstanding.Definately our best winter holiday yet.
