Countries Visited: Austria, Italy
- Variety of routes through Dolomite scenery
- Comfortable family-run hotel in picturesque Dobbiaco
- Well-maintained winter walking routes

The Dolomites are arguably one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Italy, where sheer limestone walls are topped by improbable pinnacles of yellow, pink and bright red rock. Based in the pretty town of Dobbiaco, with easy access into this famous range of jagged peaks, we enjoy easy valley routes to Versciaco, next to the Austrian border, and up to the quaint village of Villabassa. Our walks discover some fascinating First World War history and reveal a strong mix of Austrian and Italian influences that make the South Tyrol such an appealing area to visit. Walking trails are very well maintained and there is an incredible variety of routes, all offering great scenery and viewpoints of the Dolomites. Each evening we return to the hospitality of the Tschurtschenthaler family who have entertained our clients for many years on our cross-country skiing and winter walking holidays.
Cross-country Skiing Dobbiaco
Cross-country Skiing Dobbiaco: Don't forget that our cross-country ski trip to Dobbiaco also stays at Hotel Tschurtschenthaler (see CXD for trip details). The trip runs on some Winter Walking dates, so it is possible for two people to share a room but enjoy different activities. |
