Itinerary
Day 1
Fly from Gatwick to Innsbruck; transfer by road to Oberammergau.
Day 2 - 4
We prefer not to specify in advance where we will ski each day. This is to enhance the flexibility and adapt to weather and snow conditions and to some extent the ability of the group. When choosing routes, the leader's priority will be to ensure that participants become better and more confident skiers as the week progresses.
Being based in Oberammergau itself, location of the race, we will be able to train on parts of the actual Köenig Ludwig Lauf route.
The Ammergau ski area offers over 300km of tracks. From the Lourse Dickelschwaig to the Ettaler lap or the Sonnenloipe, we have a great choice of skating tracks to train on each day. Each of them taking us to different villages in the Ammergau Alps to enjoy beautiful scenery and the odd coffee break as we prepare for the race on Saturday.
For those who would like some extra practice time in the evenings, the Ammergau ski area also has one night track: the Kofelau-Lap, floodlit on Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
Day 5 is a free day giving you the opportunity to relax, try another winter activity, or get in some final training for race day.
Day 6 will be spent collecting our race entry numbers, visiting the stalls selling ski equipment and memorabilia and enjoying the exciting pre-race atmosphere.
Day 7 Will be race day. (B,D)
Day 8
